  • What do you guys think?

i’m interested in learning what you guys think about the effect, if any, our roster change has had on us!

    1. Have we let go good players only to replace them with worse? For example I would much prefer SKD to Reece at the moment from what I’ve seen of Reece.
    2. Watson I would rather have tried to keep as he’s a versatile player that would be a great back up too.
    3. Cordner has been in terrible form. So have others. Is it the Pearce factor? Not just emotionally but being so used to Pearce that players are having difficulty adjusting to Cronk?
    4. Aiden Guerra was a good player and we could use him right now.

I agree with letting Pearce go but Watson, Guerra and SKD I think are questionable losses if you look at our forward stats and where we’re getting walloped. Forwards and wing, two positions I think we had much better covered last year are our main weaknesses this year as well as no goal kicker. I still think the roster change has a lot to do with our problems. Whether it can be fixed I don’t know. You can’t replace experience.

Our problem is that our forwards aren’t feared. They are inconsistent and mentally don’t show up too often. Plus we have the slowest hooker in the game. And we have zero offloads from our pack so no second phase play or opportunity for Ted.

1- Teddy over Gordon, Cronk over Pearce ??? SKD isn't a good example. There are contributing factors behind his departure.

2- Watson wanted a starting position, and more money I assume.

3- We are talking about highly paid professional players here. None of the examples in point 3 should be valid at all.

4- Guerra????? His best is behind him. While he's a capable first-grader when he wants to be, I don't think he was providing value for money.

Nah SKD bought about his own demise, he had become more trouble than he was worth between the Peris fiasco and the drug arrest. On Guerra although he had a better season last year he had been consistently crap the two seasons previous. So I think the club made the right choice with those two players.

What I think is that you and King Salvo are twin brothers sharing the same brain and opinions. All negativity and doom and gloom. I suspect you are enjoying the losses more than the wins.

Some people need to remember that premierships aren't won in the front end of the comp - classic example is the DragQueens last year. Started off on fire, ran out of puff mid season and missed the 8. And Newcastle in 2016 (I think, or 2015) - won the first 4 games and then struggled to win another one for the rest of the season and ended up with the spoon.

Don’t tell Dragon fans that premierships aren’t won in March. My Saints supporting neighbour thinks they are certainties to win the comp the dopey bastard.

the only two departed players id have wanted to keep are watson andflash, both for obvious reasons but we couldn't get a starting spot for watson so i dont blame him, flash wanted to go home quite simple, he earned that right.

I'm sure the nrl would love to see the warriors win this year, but no matter how much help they get, they are sure to implode ..................just like souffs when they were promised the comp in 2013.

I hate using the term, but a new 'spine' always takes time to gel. And having a slug at hooker doesn't help.

As a team, we are still a work in progress ...

My BIL is the same - I can't stand the bloke and I had great delight in reminding him of what happened to his beloved DragQueens in 2017 when he rang me on the pretext of wishing me a Happy Easter when all he wanted to do was brag about his footy team. Sure enough he hung up soon after that. Fwit that he is.

For starters you cannot compare SKD with Reece Robinson. One is a backup winger who is in for Toops and maybe also Bernard Lewis. The other was a starting right winger. Fergos output this year exceeds SKD on the right wing anyway.

Answer to the rest, I don't miss them.

honestly believe if we had a quick hooker which added a bit of uncertainty in the defence it would help a lot. i just feel we are just read so easily, so predictable which is why the tigers and the warriors could deal with us so easily

After tonight’s efforts, I would have Reece over SKD based on ball control alone. He may not be as quick as we are all led to believe but he’s not the only one to get run down in open space. While our new superstar fullback has been solid, he has looked rather pedestrian at times and has himself been caught in open space on more than one occasion.
