No doubt 2011 has been a difficult season, but just like in all rough patches there have been a few positives, and one of those is Aiden Guerra.
The 23 year old from Townsville is establishing himself as an attacking weapon for the Tricolours, with a try scoring record that would be the envy of any NRL outside back, let alone a forward.
Don’t expect Guerra to ever be joining some of his mates in the forward pack on the famous end of year nudie run.
8 tries in 19 first grade matches.
5 tries in 10 matches this season, including 4 in the past 3.
The stats speak for themselves but what is it about Guerra’s unique running style that delivers so much success?
“Rugby league can be a very simple game, all I have to do is catch the ball and evade the person in front of me as best I can,” Guerra said.
“It is all I think about and all I have ever done, I don’t think I do anything too different to everyone else.”
Fast becoming a favourite amongst Roosters fans, Guerra says the team will focus on consistency this weekend.
“We have to make sure we put everything together this weekend for the full 80 minutes,” he said.
“Its not possible to just play well in patches anymore and there is no better test than trying to do it against the Dragons.”
Guerra, who has decided the 70’s Mo is the go, is currently renegotiating a new contract with the club.
