His salary would be a quarter of Tedesco. Teddy couldnt even grab a line break in a rout.

It will actually be a good season long comparison. Keep in mind that Gordon is playing with what is essentially a NSW Cup team while Tedesco is surrounded by rep players.

Teddy has a 4 year contract, imagine how Gordon will be going in 2021. We were going to have to replace him anyway. I am pretty happy with Teddy, third most metres in the NRL for 2018 to date, second most tackle breaks.

I get your point. I always rated Tedesco but that price tag has come at the expense of quality depth - something that we desperately need. We really needed to get a quality bopper and some mid range signings. By 2019/20/21 who knows what kind of youngster will be available.
Next year we will have another big money signing joining the squad which will lead to more imbalance.

I think our spine was good enough this year without Tedesco, which would have allowed us to be stronger contenders. As it stands we are one injury away from players like Robinson stinking it up or Aubo in the centres.

Gordon's side was up against probably the worst performance of the year in the NRL in the Bulldogs today.

Teddy was very good last night against a pretty decent outfit and wasn't required to do a real lot as others starred.

Value for money Gordon does provide more value, but to get a elite spine player you have to pay exponentially more money.

You need two maybe 3 elite players in your spine to win a comp, unless you hit the jackpot and a boom one in your system comes along and you have them below value. It is the sacrifice and risk we have to make if we are to win a comp. We were not going to win one with Gordon in 2018 that is for sure.....
