In 2013 RTS & Daniel Toupo were gun wingers. The strike power out wide was awesome. Roger with his speed stepping and Toops fearless attacking under the high ball. Subsequently RTS was moved to fullback before leaving and Toops game never lived up to his early potential and now he is very much the poor mans Vunivalu. (sorry to all the Toop fans but i will say having met him at Fox studios one night you could NEVER meet a nicer and more humble gentleman....which could be half his problem)

So it would be great to again have a winger thats a strike weapon instead of a liability so i think the Roosters should take a chance on Josh Mansour despite his age and run on injuries. Runs and tackles like his life depends on it and he can really inspire team mates to lift. His aggression mixed with Latrells would be daunting.

If he was cheap then sure, but listening to Gus the other day, he is after one final big payday, so may not be worth a lot of money being spent on a winger

Toops hasn’t been injury free for a while now. Hopefully when he does return, give him a few weeks and he will be good. We are really missing him. Toops and Latrell on the left edge create many chances. He is on a low amount and bleeds red white and blue. Would rather have him than a guy who would put the paycheque first.

Toops was injured in Round 2. At the time they said he would be out for 12 weeks. So I guess we are looking at Round 14.

Having big and fast wingers in the modern game is clearly important. The age of thin, zippy wingers is over... a 105kg winger with speed to burn is a prize. Same can be said about hooker... notice the teams that are carving up have thin, zippy, smart hookers (lol@souffs, dragqueens, mel**** storms)? Not stocky, slow tackle bags.

Mansour is coming off an acl which needs 12-18 months to recover strength in the knee after they start playing not just from the operation date. He will want big money and at 28 it isn't worth spending that much coin on him.
