The Illawarra sox are on fire at the moment and we're playing like shit, it's important to keep reminding ourselves that it is early May and we are months away from the important end of season games. Judging by what I've seen, I have absolutely no right to say this but if we suddenly click and start playing with confidence we have the players to do a lot of damage. I can't help but feel that the sox will fall away at some stage, I just don't think that they will keep up this standard all year. The fact that we are playing like rubbish and still have 5 wins on the board makes me wonder what we'll do when we find form. Predictably we've seen the Tigers start to fall away and I'm waiting for the Warriors to bite the bullet, Penrith, well are they a real threat???? I'm not sold on them, I still believe that Melbourne are the team to beat and today the sox only scored 4 tries to their 3 so the win seemed a lot more conclusive than it was. In short I think we could be the sleeping giants of this comp, just wait till Keary, Cronk, Tedesco and Mitchell hit their straps, we could be in for a fantastic last 3 months. I'm probably being way too optimistic here but I really believe that there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel.

The Sox as you call them won by 20 though - comprehensive in anyone's book- they will have to fall over big time not to make the 8 and finish at least top 4. Penrith will make the 8 and Top 4- You are hoping the Chooks will find form - mmm what happens though if their current form is their best form though .

Cronk and Tedesco are not the massive buys the club and many on here were hoping for- 9 games should be more than enough time to gel combo's one has to say - 11 day break to work on their game - May as well gone OS for a short holiday and come back 2 days before the game as nothing changed. - Fast running out of excuses one has to say. People need to face the facts - Chooks are not as good as many were suggesting they were.

We have the personnel (largely) to make a late run at it, no doubt .

You would have to blame the coaching staff for our current lack of precision and execution, tactics. You play how you train etc. They may yet prove to be genuises and we could improve exponentially as the season rolls on.

Any one of our players (bar the numner 9) would excel elsewhere so we can't say we haven't got the cattle.

Maybe Radley's hits on Taupau might shame our other forwards into action. If that happens then who knows what can happen, it's a very wide open comp. Even Souffs are in it ffs...

Reminds me of last year. We can win if...

Problem is that we never got our act together.

There is definitely a light at the end of the tunnel though,

There's a lot of footy to be played and if we can get a bit of confidence we will do good things.

In the meantime we need to hang tough and win games by hook or by crook.

You have a vested interest in our team failing this year, we have too many great players to not gel at some stage. I believe we will gel and when we do our fortunes will rise, we have seen glimpses of brilliance and those glimpses will become regular occurrences.

Next week is a huge game for us, if we can win it it could spark a winning run.

Manu, fergo,Aubo, matterson,Napa, tetavano, friend would not help too many teams to be honest at the moment.

That's how I'm seeing it at the moment.

We have our issues however it is a very weak comp this year. The Steelers can't play any better that's for sure.

They will have quite a few in the SOO teams which is a bonus for us.

The main thing that will stop us is our dummy half issue.

Fergo is also becoming a problem with stupid errors creeping back into his game after a good start.

It feels as though the NRL season is like speed skating. Almost any team can win, it's just about getting into the 8 then being the "Bradbury" team that can still be standing when the others run out of puff.

Just look at how rare back-to-back premierships are: none since the Drongos 97-98 (and 97 was Super League)

Instead of your constant criticism of Cronk and Tedesco and cordner, maybe you should do us all a favour and go support Newcastle or Brisbane or fkn Leeds or the netball because you certainly are not a roosters supporter.
Before you claim that you’re only giving an opinion , it has become mundane and very boring as you’ve said the same thing over and over again. We can all see the team has problems and are discussing solutions rather than drive an agenda against our off season signings , who will eventually produce the goods as they are both classy and talented.

On Fergo and his errors He makes that many hit ups in a game Sheer weight of numbers means he will make mistakes almost every game We definately are missing Tupou and his hit ups

The Steelers are almost certain to finish top four. They won't collapse this year.

Personally I don't know why you give him your time of day. I just bypass all the verbal diarrhea.

Good to see some positiveness coming out Coggy.

Apart from the Warriors game where we just didn't give ourselves any attacking options because we dropped everything and had no ball, we were in the game with our other losses apart from a couple of costly errors where the game got away. This with us playing crappy all year.

I think once Toups comes back our attacking dynamic will change. Maubs offers little attacking option but with Latrell/Toups and Manu/Fergo we will have more speed on both sides. Latrell works much better with Toups plus the high ball to Toups comes into play. Manu seems to have gotten more involved the last couple of weeks and he is a better attacking centre than he is on the wing. Of course the downside is possibly defence on our right side.

It was good to see JWH and SST working on their offloads. Something both have lacked so far this year. Teddy also getting more involved in our attack. You can see subtle changes coming in each week whether it be attack or defence.

Remember in 2014 we started 4-4 and 2015 (3-5) before taking out the minor premierships.

I am confident our attack will come good. Our biggest issues gong forward will be our completions and any injuries particularly to our backline.
