  • What to do with Anasta?

Let's say hypothetically Carney stays, in all honesty thats what I see happening but who knows, Anasta proved on the weekend that at 5/8th he can be very useful when he does what we need from him, a running, line breaking half who kicks only when Pearce isn't available. He has also proven that he is a waste of space as a back-rower, doesn't get through enough work and contributes minimally to the side.

So what are we to do with him? Do we keep him as insurance incase Carney goes off the rails again? Do we get him to bulk up during the off-season and turn him into a workhorse? Should we explore new potential positions for him? Or should we just plain out drop him, What do you think

I would sack Todd Carney keep Anasta for next year then go after a good 5/8 like Kieran Foran or Shaun Johnson from Warriors has been very good

i dont think we should drop anasta. he is a great player and he still has it in him. when we all watched anasta play at win on sunday its fair to say that five eight is his best position. after next year see how he plays then the club should make a decision
On the other hand carney i dont no what to say about him

So when is that likely to happen?

Play Anasta at full back, after all it is a second 5/8th.

What about putting him into the centres to play a Jamie Lyon style role?

Anytime the club wants it to. He isn't an alcoholic, he's just a guy who behaves like a dickhead while drunk.

Let's face it, if Carney had anything more than the basic human brain function then he'd be working in an office or in a job that doesn't involve him being smashed by 100+ kilo men most weekends.

If the problem is the media, like "Doodles" Gould said yesterday on the Roast, then he should have his fun away from the media.

If Carney wants to drink then he should do it at a controlled situation away from the public.

Really, what is wrong with the club setting up a gathering of the team where they are couriered to and from the club in a bus, driven by a trusted member of the club?

Its not about the size/bulk but the heart...he simply hasn't got it.

Many NRL players who are much smaller than anasta will prove that!

there's no question of heart when it comes to Anasta, he just isn't used to playing that role, if he was given that as a goal i'm sure he would step up to it.

                        Thats what I would do.

The experiment is over - Anasta performs best at 5/8. Whether that is because that is where he is suited or whether he turns up his toes if he isn't in his favourite position I'm not sure.

Carney is a 5/8 with a much troubled headspace and questionable commitment.

The club has to pick a 5/8 for next year and sack the other one. Carrying one of them not playing 5/8 is a waster of cap space.

After Carney's last incident, I would sack Carney and keep Anasta for next year.

I would be looking for a replacement come 2013.

I'll remind people the last time Anasta was 5/8th full time we got the wooden spoon.

Which had nothing to do with him, Mason ran amok in the joint and Freddy had no idea how to handle it.

Carney just ain't worth the risk anymore PIM, I like the scenario set out above. Carney gone, Anasta 1 more season and 2013 under the new tv deal we either promote within the ranks or buy a young rising talent to slot in beside Pearce.

The Clubs not running a Day-care centre they are grown men who should be held accountable for there actions...
The Media is there to keep everybody honest as much as I hate to admit it... but they are keeping him honest he makes a pact with his mates and broke not a week later. If they didn’t catch him and the other buffoons, he would have kept doing it and next year will be the same as this yr.
