What to do with Anasta?

If Carney is leaving then we are better off with Anasta at five eighth.
He is more use to us (only margninally) at five eighth rather than wasting a spot in the back row.
We have plenty of back rowers who will do a better job than him.
It's now time Pearce stepped up. No more "he's still learning" or "he will come good".
In 2012 he NEEDS to be a fully fledged top shelf halfback. With Anasta outside him he has no choice.Last edited by Vasco; 09-01-2011, 12:02 PM.Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.

Anasta knows no fear on a football field but I think when he plays in the back row he thinks of himself as a five eighth, and plays like one, problem is, back rowers rack up a lot of tackles five eights do'nt. If Carney is dismissed by the board Anasta does have a legitimate place in the team, we can't play two five eighths for eighty minutes for when we do we have a genuine forward missing in our team . Personally I would hate to see Carney sacked so for me its a no win situation, unless Anasta is made to play a genuine forwards role, with bench time thrown in..

With Anasta staying and the crap gone, the club will begin to grow.
He is not the best 5/8 in the comp but he is far from the worst. He will give all he has and forget the Funch comparisons he is 5x the player he ever was.
Unlike many that have made their minds up about he, he is a decent honorable man and thats the sort of person we need to influence the younger players at the club. The Internet is a place for posting silly things
Try and be serious and you will look stupid

What people tend to overlook when discussing carney and Myles and the like, is the adverse effect their indiscretions can have on our ability to recruit younger players. I know that if my 18yo son was approached to go to the Roosters I would have some misgivings and reservations about him going there due to the 'party boy/lack of discipline image the club has. As Billy said above me, Anasta is far from the best five eighth running around, but he's also not the worst and hopefully his professionalism can rub off on guys like JWH, BJ, Tasi, Cordner and the rest of our up and coming players. If this does happen, we may one day rid our club of the stigma it has earned over the last 3 or 4 seasons.
