  • Smith virtually confirms FPN will be here next year will having a small pot shot

interesting little section in the naming of this weeks team by Smithy, he had a small shot at FPN saying he has got plenty of work to do to earn a first grade spot saying his form and training standard was not up to what was required, would have been interesting to see if Smithy would have dropped him anyway before his night out.

I wonder by the fact he only mentioned FPN that it maybe an indication Carney is going to be sacked by the club and won't be back.

below is a link for those wanting to watch the video

this whole thing could be a good thing for FPN. it could be that thing that makes him realise that last year aside, things dont come easy and that he needs to pull his head in and start to play like the player he is and behave far better on and off the field

FPN and Mossy both amaze me. On their day they can both be wrecking balls. And on other days they are lazy as heck and just dont show up. If they were consistent they would be unstoppable.

Isn't this his first offence? In the case of FPN, I think it's poor judgement rather than any behavioural issues.

there was rumours mid season he wasn't happy and wanted to head back to NZ, maybe he has lined up a deal with the Warriors and just wanted to speed up his exit from the Roosters.

interesting. it would surprise me tbh considering he signed a lengthy extension to his current deal early in the year so id be inclined to write it off as rumours.

agree but to me it seems as though he reformed from the kiwi gang bad boy and performed well last year but seems to have let his foot off the gas a little. i think he has excellent leadership traits particularly for some of the younger kiwi boys in our side and from what i have seen they seem to gravitate towards him so hopefully this indiscretion serves as a wake-up call and helps him mature and grow-up because there is a real opportunity for him to take his game to the next level in the absence of myles next year. he has all the skills and is a very complete player. with a bit of maturity and consistency he could be anything

Apparently Fitzy was like a father figure to FPN. Hopefully the club can get Fitzy back to the club in some capacity soon.

I think it's ridiculous that Smith should be laying into FPN like that on an internet video naming this weeks team. As much as FPN is a fool for his efforts over the last week, you don't lay into your players like that on an internet video???

Also, why didnt he drop him weeks ago if he thinks his form and training are not up to standard???

I hear what you are saying but you know what...fark FPN.

He has been below average ALL season. These comments should inspire him to get off his arse.

Fitzy was like a mentor to him.
Got him into a proper fitness program, and changed his eating habits (from kfc to healthy food).

Only fair considering how he's embarrassed the club. Carney and Myles on the other hand...well they are an embarrassment unto themselves. Smithy doesn't have to bother with them.

ROOSTERS I: Our NSW Cup spies reckon Frank-Paul Nuuausala was so bad on the weekend that there weren't enough beers at Henson Park to comfort Newtown fans.

ROOSTERS II: It was good to see most of the Roosters squad - minus suspended stars Nuuausala, Nate Myles and Todd Carney - visit the Prince of Wales Children's Hospital on Monday

THis is good. Anyone who thinks that FPN's form has been acceptable this year is not watching the same games that I am. Enough touchy feely lovey bullshite - start holding these boys accountable for their actions.

I really hope this is the opportunity for Smith to start to serve notice on the slackers!
