Hope you guys are right about him staying as it was reported in RLW this week as follows;
Long striding back rower Aiden Guerra has been one of the Roosters form forwards in the latter stages of a disastrous season - yet his future remains in limbo. Guerra hasn't been offered a contract for 2012 and his manager Jim Banaghan headed to England this week in search of a club. "I would like to stay but things are pretty much up in the air right now" says 23 year old Guerra. "I would like to have it sorted out as soon as possible so I know where I stand". Banaghan has already had approaches from overseas. "Aiden is playing well and people are noticing" he says. "I'm expecting to tie something up soon either in England or Australia.

Why such a long wait to get a new contract sorted. Surely, and I've said it before, his form has been first-class and consistent for the last 10 weeks and his form last year was just as impressive. Hurry up Australia, more importantly, pull some strings Roosters and get this done.
Surely Banaghan is being forced to shop Guerra overseas as there has yet to be any offers here in Australia. If there was a club out there wouldn't the coach or the CEO come out and show some interest. There are plenty of unsubstantiated rumours but nothing solid.

Most clubs are at or near the salary cap for 2012 even at this stage of the season, as most deals are done much earlier on in the season. So I would believe that there is limited interest from Aust clubs, not because they don't want him, but because they can't afford him, not for 2012 anyway.
Hopefully the Roosters can come up with an acceptable deal for all parties.

The is no way his manager is flying to the UK specifically for Guerra. They go to talk about their entire lists. Guerra would likely be keen to stay but I would expect the club are looking to keep him on a relatively low contract and short in length due to his history of injuries. Guerra and his manager would be seeking a longer term.

He will "generate interest", but make it look negative for the current club the player is signed to.
I am sure the roosters have offered a fair contract, but banaghan will try get every drop of blood by including offeres from the UK.

Among other things you have no idea how much cap space is left

i am sure the Roosters would have offered him a contract that they believe is fair and that is within the current fiscal requirements of the NRL Salary cap.........
Is that clearer?

Maybe they offered him unders in the hope he might take it in the absence of anything better
Again, you'd have no way of knowing if what the Roosters offered him was good, bad, indifferent or otherwise
