The club broke its promise to Myles, he had a contract.

The club breaks its promises to any players who have contracts and it decides to dump.

    Trust is a two-way street.
Look, to me, i don't feel that carney has an alcohol problem, i don't believe he has a mental problem, i believe he has a problem with Self control.

Now, having someone baby him 24hrs a day, he will not learn that he needs to say no.

When he got caught by the cops earlier this year, the night before, if he had self control, he could have said at 10pm "ok boys, i'm off early, got a meeting with the manager then training, enjoy the night" we would have had no problems earlier this year

When the watts issue occured, he could have said to Watts when he called "yeah Wattsy, i'll pass on it tonight, i should have been going to my mums. Have a good night will catch you for a coffee in the morning"

Now the latest issue. "nah nate, i'll pass tonight, can you imagine the media if they saw me drinking, especially if they find out we all agreed to a drinking ban???"

You learn Self control by learning there are repurcussions to your actions, not being baby sat by a minder 24hrs a day.

He needs to be ACCOUNTABLE FOR HIS ACTIONS.

Well you can't have it both ways.

Footy clubs today are businesses...the business is winning matches and making the 8 at least...not competing for spoons at the wrong end of the ladder.

We can't afford any more experiments.
Carney and Pearce the halves, Anasta to lock or second row, and into round one 2012 we go.

Well that's what I'd be aiming for if I were running the show.
Anasta one off Carney is almost a second 5/8.

And you need fans streaming thru the gates.
      The fans love Carney.

Aren't girls supposed to love 'bad boys'?
How come Todd doesn't have a nice girlfiend?

Bozo said keep Carney and manage him.
Bozo's not my hero man, but on this matter I agree with him.

He does..he's a work in progress though.
They say children mentored by their grandparents these days are learning a lot about being responsible and what life is all about.
"Hang with mature and responsible people 24/7 you become mature yourself".

Pearce, Myles and FPN are not 'grandparents'.

If winning games next year involves paying for a change of residence and a live in chauffer/mentor for Todd, then I'd be doing that...and beating my chest in celebration at the end of next year if it all worked out well.

The fans love Carney? Gee... He seems pretty popular right at present...

He doesn't need a minder either. He needs to grow up.

He can't be kept. The players no longer want him.

By keeping Carney we are persisting with a now failed and redundant experiment. The way i see it, you care too much about the club "winning". I no longer see it like that. The club's brand and sponsors have been damaged and now it's about getting the club back on track

                    The Quality of Mercy

The quality of mercy is not strained.
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest:
It blesseth him that gives and him that takes.
Tis mightiest in the mightiest; it becomes
The throned monarch better than his crown.
His scepter shows the force of temporal power,
The attribute to awe and majesty,
Wherein doth sit the dread and fear of kings.
                    But mercy is above this sceptered sway;
                    It is enthroned in the hearts of kings;
                    It is an attribute of God himself;
And earthly power doth then show like God's
                    When mercy seasons justice.

How the hell are we meant to connect William Shakespeare and Todd Carney?

By the way, it's the Roosters Club, its sponsors and supporters who are entitled to mercy for putting up with TC's BS - not TC himself.

Seriously, enough with the constant 'black eye' our club has endured with TC.

There is only so much babysitting or duty of care a club can do with an individual player. I would guess Steggles would be far from impressed with the current circus. Went through this crap with Mason, and recently with Watts. Any future sponsorship deals would be on thin ice if this crap is not sorted out. In the current volitile financial marketplace, it is hard enough getting any sort of sponsorship. Why would any company support/associate with a club that is in constant turmoil?

In the beginning of this latest soap opera, I thought we could sort this out in-house. It has got to the point of no return. Suspensions just don't work. It's black and white, keep him or piss him off. Initially I wanted to keep him, but it has become such a mess, it may be in the best interests of our club to let him go. Not happy about Braith at 5/8 (even less happy with him in the scrum), but would rather 2012 be a re-building season with our exciting juniors coming through, than the joke our club has become.

It is not worth the additional bad PR in playing TC/Miles/FPNumb-nuts. Only 3 games to go. Lets try and finish off the 2011 season on a high. We have dodged a bullet with the spoon. Had the year from hell. No more crap. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Relative though...some who will be sittting in judgement of TC were themselves begging for mercy not so long ago.

If Carney wishes to stay and the club want him, His contract should be altered. To keep him Honest and focused, If Carney is not prepared to do this then he will never get any better no matter where he ends up!

It's only become such a mess because of that stupid alcohol ban Anasta thought up.
                                He meant well, very well.
It didn't work when Freddy was coach, and it didn't work this time.

If they'd asked me what I thought of a having an alcohol ban I would've told them it was a recipe for major, major disaster...just as happened.
Especially as they knew Carney and Pearce had been out drinking together.

Myles reportedly was calling for Carney to be sacked last time...now he was out drinking with him during a ban himself!

I would've told them to just drop any players to Newtown whose form or attitude in their view didn't warrant first grade selection...and close ranks.

This open book to the media is inviting trouble.

If I were Carney and they sacked me over this I'd be inclined to seek redress in the courts to get this and next year's contract money.
