If its correct that Smithy doesnt want him then maybe Smith has the impact Todd has had on the team, from the inside. Unlike us that are looking from the outside.

Personally I wouldnt want to stay in a job where the bloke in charge didnt want me. And I wonder if its just Smithy or he is voicing what the players are also saying ?

      True,
but Carney is probably the biggest and the worst.
      Its and easy solution.

The Roosters have done a lot for Carney, Atherton was a Roosters thing, sometimes as people say "enough is enough"
The Internet is a place for posting silly things
Try and be serious and you will look stupid

        But enough is enough..

Todd Carney has alot of growing up to do..

And that for me is the saddest part of the whole situation..

As well as the fact that we now probably have to put up with Anasta at 5/8th again..
Anasta has far exceeded any of Todd's performances at 5/8 this year.

Todd has to go. The club has done their best to support him but he wants to lose. I feel empathy for him as he is clearly deeply disturbed. I know he was just out drinking, but under the circumstances to do so publicly against the team ban, whether you agree with it or not, shows he is deeply loopy and will remain a liability wherever he goes. He could have built on his wonderful year in 2010, but he is a runaway trainwreck. I hope he doesn't top himself, but that is also on the cards unfortunately.

Goodbye Todd, I hope you find redemption.

Yes, but now that you're an adult and if your employer was paying you 400K per annum and you told them to get f.ucked, you wouldn't be that surprised if they showed you the door, would you?

Good point, P1 but I'm 38 and not a meathead Bogan, if I do say so myself.

If Todd, or many other footballers for that matter, were able to think rationally if not laterally then they wouldn't be out there getting smashed (on the field!) every week.

I'll believe Carney is gone when I see it. I believe he will stay.

Said this on another thread but I might as well say it again. The club knew what they were getting themselves into with Carney. They surely did it on the understanding they would have to take the good with the bad.

The good was awesome. The bad was not so great....but doesn't have to be terminally bad. Not if managed the right way.

Roll the dice once more I say. Show him some love. A reasonable chance he'll repay with it a strong season next year. If not...well next year's gonna pretty ordinary anyway if Anasta's gonna be at 6. So whats to lose. Roll the dice.

                    LOL. You're still a youngster!

I know you're not a fan of Braith, but he seems not to be a meathead to me. On the contrary, he is doing his best, with what he has, to prepare for his future after he retires, by establishing ties with potential employers in the media. This has earned him criticism by many on this forum, ridiculously labeling him a "media whore". I guess because I work in hospitals that makes me a "healthcare whore", but I am prepared to slut it up if it puts food on my family's table.

I've not met Braith personally, but I've had the pleasure of helping his mum in the line of my work, a lovely lady who's been through a lot, and I know enough about Braith to convince me he is a stand up guy. But yes, in spite of some awesome leadership qualities, his best playing days are past him.

Bondi-boy beat me to is... ch 9 is full of $hit... imagine Carney trying to get a visa!!!
                        - Drink driving x 10 (currently on parole I believe?)
                        - Property damage
                        - Resisting arrest

Gotta be joking if you think he'll get a visa in France.

Dweidler was peddling the France line in his Snerald column too. That is wishful drivel from his manager trying to change the tide of public opinion and pretend he has options beyond souffs.

As Gerard Whateley said on Offsiders last Sun: "Todd Carney is a serial offender with a persecution complex. I don't know what he has to do to get sacked. If he was playing any of the other three codes in the country he would have been long gone"

                            it's a pro sport not a creche

Carney is a liability to the side with his dumbass shenanigans

                                Easts owe Carney nothing
