Seriously, you still want to compare Todd to those who went to war ?

There is one difference........todds not awaiting a call up to be shipped off to another country, with the realisation that they may me in the sights of a faceless enemy with chances highly stacked that they may not have returned to see their loved ones back home because they received a bullet to the head !

If he has depression, then seek treatment for it, STAY OUT OF THE LIME LIGHT and get better. Again, it comes down to HIM and what HE wants to do about it.

        Fair enough.

Oh geez, pass around the tissues will you and we'll all shed a tear for the misunderstood one - NOT!

TC's life has been no harder, in fact its probably been a lot less difficult than many men his age, and TC has had a lot more support than most. So I don't think he's got too much to complain about or to be depressed to be honest.

Most young blokes would take what he has in a heartbeat and probably do a lot more with it.

I'm about 4 years younger than Toddy and despite all the things he has handed to him on a gold platter losing your Dad to dementia makes his life so much harder than mine and plenty of others. Personally I wouldn't take what he has gone through in a heartbeat.

I'm not sure if he suffers from depression but if he does his life probably isn't as happy as everyone likes to think (despite what he may or may not achieved) having known someone personally who did.

Rooster 6, I know all about having a father with dimentia as my own father is now suffering from it. And whilst my father is older than his was and I'm older (much older) than Todd, the experience is the same, and it's something that could go on for years yet in my case. And it's something I would not wish on anyone either. But the fact is no one has the perfect life.

Whatever problems TC has, he needs to get help for. But until he wants that help, it won't do him any good. To be honest it seems to me like he's addicted to the attention that the train wreck of his 2011 year brings. He seems to put himself out there to be caught out on a regular basis.

And that's why I'd prefer him to be cut loose by the Roosters. If people involved with the Roosters wish to continue to assist him with his personal issues then fine, but they can do that privately as individuals, without bringing the Roosters name and reputation in any more disrepute.

And by doing that, they'll be showing that they really do care for Carney as an individual and are not being influenced by his footballing ability. But of course, they don't care for him as an individual, they only care about what he can do on the field.

If he was a lesser player, he'd have been punted long ago

In a results driven business surely you can understand that stance.

What kind of deep thought exactly were you expecting from a heavily tattooed footy player with a reputation for setting people's arses on fire???

These Carney threads are getting beyond ridiculous. Beyond that even.

The thing is Nick always mentions his 'duty of care to Todd' as to why he is still here. It may be better for Todd in the long run if he gets cut loose from the club so he may wake up to himself and if Nick really cares for Todd as a person which he may, he can still support him privately.

Yes of course I can - it's a football club, not a halfway house

But they try and justify not sacking him by trotting out this bullshit about caring for him as an individual

I expect it'll be trotted out again next week

A reasonable theory, if it weren't for the fact that Smith was the one who hired him. They go back a long way and are good friends.
