Not sure what their definition of late mail is but that's a long way away.

He does come from a Union background so it's possible.

Would like to keep him but that wouldn't be the end of the world I guess.

Is this the same "late mail" that said Carney was Shirebound?

I take all rumors of player movement with a large dose of salt.

If he leaves it's another example of the NRL Salary Cap being a joke.

"Some players who are at the club this year won't be here next year" - Phil Gould ...[at one end of season function].

Not every player at our club can be paid the same as at another club if that other club wants the said player on its books at virtually 'any' price.

If his [the player] contract is up and he wants to move on to greener pastures, for more money or whatever, then he moves on ["with our best wishes" - Phil Gould].

Without a salary cap there wouldn't be many teams in the comp.

Clubs would go the way of the red and black Bears.

The funny thing about the cap is that they say the game can't afford a rise but I think most clubs rort it anyway.

Honestly the only team in the league who I think couldn't pay more is the Sharks.

With no-idea Gillard/Labor's stupid poker machine 'problem gamblers' system soon to be introduced, that will cost clubs a motza and send others broke...now is not the time for our club or any other to be going on a spending spree it can't easily afford.

Clubs must be protected from themselves.
Any increase in the cap should be modest.

$300,000 pa ... $400,000 pa contract is 10 years wages to some workers.

As the NRL is now rolling in it after the new TV deal, it should give each club a greater share of the total pot...and maybe raise the cap accordingly.
