To add some balance to the issue of ref's decisions, I'll say here what I said in the thread that Ghost started (http://www.thechookpen.com.au/forum/...ill-the-Roosta!), JWH's try should have been disallowed for a clear obstruction (Ryles on Douglas) and the granting of Williams' second try was to square the ledger.

To this year's interpretation of the stripping rule in the act of scoring a try the call would have been correct had Gallen not knocked it on after Perrett pulled it out. It was obvious Gallen didn't score, and I thought it was equally as obvious that his hand hit the ball and propelled it forward after it was stripped. Even in slow motion you could see the rotation of the ball change on the player's leg once his hand hit it.

Also, I can't imagine the rookie ref will get a game for the rest of the year. Teddy Lyons wasn't much better but the young bloke completely lost control, often forgetting what hand signals went with the different infringements.
Correct me if I'm wrong, didn't Williams have to turn around (from an offside position) to ground the ball anyway?

And on another note, wtf is it with the bomb on the 5th tackle, we saw one instance of the pressure that a well placed grubber can put on the defence.

        No offside in goal.

No offside in your OWN in-goal.

I agree that JWH's try should not have been awarded, it was quite clear to me that Ryles obstructed the incoming defender (poor decision from the on field ref)... However, the worrying thing about the Sharks try is that it was awarded by the video ref who had ample time and a number of different angles that all showed Gallen knocking the ball on yet he still came up with the wrong decision... Disgraceful!!!!!

Kimmorley was deathriding us all last night, it must of been hard for him to swallow seeing us come back and win. They should call him Knobby not Noddy.
