Putting aside the fact that he'll be within traveling distance of the Côte d'Azur, the party capital of the world which would be like putting me in the Vivid video warehouse, I hope to Freddy we're not going to rely on Captain Not Courageous to be 5/8th next year.

Like I said, see what happens with Melbourne before anyone forgets 2009 and the spoon.

Well that's what 'everyone' wanted...same team as last night...same halves.

If he parties and doesn't make it, then that's up to him.
Anyway, there are no real other choices for him besides footy retirement.

The whole thing sounds a bit silly to me.

      Why?

        A few reasons....

        1. He is only contracted with us until end 2012
        2. How does a year in France help us
        3. How does a year in France help him
        4. How could you write it up to confirm he comes back to us and not another club? Particularly with NRL sanction
        5. Common sense tells me that it sounds silly.

        But then again who knows?

Hopefully he finds himself a nice French girl and settles down. All his problems seem to have coincided with him being single.

I was thinking the same thing.

A nice sleigh ride date with a Santa snow bunny to start with.

In the meantime hopefully Lopini will still be there next year and they can be friends.
Better than some of the friends he has here.

By all accounts he loves the Roosters.
If it all works out in France and he sorts his life out, he'd be a ready-made 5/8 for us in 2013.
A year in France could help him...he'd be getting paid something, and have a new chance at life...his footy life and personal life are going nowhere here at this very moment.

Lawyers can write up anything, and we wouldn't be actually sacking him so an NRL sanction wouldn't apply.

I feel this thread needs a musical interlude. And an entirely appropriate one.

Crossing the Channel to the UK every second week will be the issue.

                      Looks like this has legs.
Could turn out to be genius, or the dumbest thing our club could do.
Lol Rugby league in France is as popular as syphilis, yawnion is the game. Equals no media scrutiny!

                      Trent Robinson is the key.
They got on very well, and a big supporter of Todd behind the scenes. Also Trent is married to a French chick, and can speak the language (which the previous Catalans aussie coaches struggled with). One of the reasons Catalan is doing well this year. Since they began in 2000, they are usually spoon contenders every year!

Is that other bogan Craig Gower still playing yawnion in France?
Rothfield will have his French journo mates working overtime coming up with dirt.
The South of France is an awesome place for 'rehab'! Talk about party time!

Politis must love this bloke and think we can't win the comp without him. Send him to France and if he stuffs up he is no associated with the club but the club will be watching his behavior closely. If he can stay out of trouble for a year then he comes back and starts again. the amount of money, time and effort put into TC is astounding.....

I think it is a good move by the club and a smart one....if we sack he will be picked up by another club no doubt.

I don't think that it's we can't win a comp without him, it's that it's only a matter of time until we do with him.

Best outcome for everyone. TC has the opportunity to attempt to get his act together out of the media spotlight and playing footy.

And the Roosters get a rest from his BS and the media it creates and can just concentrate on football alone.

His 2012 contract can be deferred to 2013 with the Roosters having the ability to rip it up if he's still not in the right headspace.

And if Sa and Bird could play throughout England in the SuperLeague so can TC.

I can't see any downside in it all - very convenient.

Those that are worried about him losing control in France obviously haven't been there.

He would be going to the south of France, not London, Amsterdam or Ibiza.
Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.
