He would be going to the south of France, not London, Amsterdam or Ibiza.
They play in the English Super League.

There'd be plenty of opportunities for Carney to 'visit' London.

The French Riviera, (or Cote d’Azur as it is known in France) is an international playground for the rich and famous and shameless. The French are arrogant farks, and our little phrase book got a workout. Like a big flashy country town.

Was there in 2003 after going to the San Remo grand prix formula 1. Drove from nothern Italy to France. Along the way, Irish pubs were in vogue in our 'pub crawl'. The autostrada is awesome, no speed limits! Parked our rental shitbox outside the Monaco casino, next to all the Porsches/Ferraris/Lambo's lol. There are plenty of cafes, clubs and bars. Monico was a rip-off for everything. Drinking and smoking everywhere. Stayed in a dump just outside the 'cbd'. A few Irish pubs in Nice (McMahons, The Snug & Ma Nolans). For a live gig, Wayne's Bar in Nice. Nearly got arrested a few times. Good times!

Todd will have enough distractions, but without the media spotlight.
There is also the odd vineyard not too far away, Craig Gower can show him around lol.

Nah no news, he hasn't quit.
Wait until there is news... I reckon he'll be back next season, if not this season.

Oh and rugby is a WINTER sport... northern hemisphere you play rugby in WINTER. Even if he did play in France, Carney would be back for the NRL season (just like Gaz was.)

Can we pay him $2 a year after he's just made millions in France? St Cheat did and there were no questions asked...

why would we bring him back this season? 2 games left, he hasn't trained for 2 weeks and we've one the last 2 without him. besides smith has already said him and myles won't be seeing any game time this season
I support two NRL teams, the Roosters and whoevers playing Souths

If he can stay out of trouble for a year then he comes back and starts again. the amount of money, time and effort put into TC is astounding.....

I think it is a good move by the club and a smart one....if we sack he will be picked up by another club no doubt.
i would prefer if the roosters sent him to a betty ford clinic in the usa in the off season rather than to france.todd's problems arent just the booze.he uses it as a prop due to deep seated personal issues.send him over to to betty ford with a support network in and out of the clinic whilst there he can deal with his internal strife and obvious alcohol prob.no shame in going there. he can learn about himself his issues and how to deal with it rather be in a football environment which is is totally foreign due to language barriers. in betty ford they will talk the talk with hin and teah how to talk the talk and walk the walk because uptodate he has only talked the talk.the off season brought him undone as too his injury and isolation.the guy is powerless over alcohol and his life is unmanangeable and betty ford can show him the way just like many other numerous celebrities. clapton, sugar ray the list is endless.

Smith has already ruled out Carney returning this season, apparently he still hasn't fronted the board and hasn't been to training since the incident so who knows what's going on

Cricket, but...sounds like what could be the scenario at a certain NRL club:

                            http://m.news.com.au/SportsTopStories/pg/2/fi799981.htm

It has been obvious to observers that the dressing rooms are rife with cliques, suspicions and jealousies.

There must seriously be a major issue with the culture of your club. If it was just one player it might be understandable, but so many times in recent seasons you have off field issues with booze, drugs, violence and crapping in stairwells all with different players. Is it required you become a complete moron as soon as you sign for the Roosters?

Maybe you should spend a fortune on a coach by making him break an existing contract with another club, oh hang on, you tried that didn't you?
