  • Backrowers

We have to many talented good backrowers in our team, it works so well when Anasta play to 5/8, even though Carney is a better player on his day.

It's either Carney and Anasta moves to second row which Taka or Guerra will have to miss out.

Or Anasta at 5/8, with Guerra, Maubs, Taka etc all in the 17.

    Carney's gone.

Those backrowers won't be missing out.

Anasta has to play centre field, if we keep Carney Anasta has to be our lock. I don't think it'll be a case of too many chefs spoils the broth either because Mini shouldn't be doing any ball playing and most clubs play with 3 ball players these days anyway (including their fullback).

Cordner was great again at lock tonight even though he only got limited minutes if we do let Carney go.

Really looking forward to seeing Jack Bosden in the RW&B but wonder where he fits in given the plethora of backrowers the Roosters have on the books. I can think of one player Jack can replace - FPN.

Bosden has played one good game for the Merge in his life.

Will have to improve markedly to oust Guerra, MAubs, Taka etc.

Next year, touch wood with injuries, we'll have one of the best packs going around: Kennedy, Friend, Ryles, Heargraves, Guerra, Aubusson, with FPN/Taikarangi, Masoe and Tasi on the bench.

Add Cordner at lock, bench Hargreaves, drop Tasi and that is definitely the team we should field. Tasi will get his time when injuries happen, or if Ryles and/or Hargreaves leave the club at the end of next year.

Tasi is ahead of FPN on heart alone. He hits much harder in defence and is good for 8-10 metres every run. I vote that ahead of a bloke who needs to realise he's not irreplaceable.

Tasi is a prop though. Unless you are suggesting that we have Guerra, Aubusson and Cordner all play 80 minutes (with Friend giving one of them a rest when Mitchell comes on), and have a 5 man prop rotation of Kennedy, Hargreaves, Ryles, Tasi and Masoe?

I wouldn't mind that, but I can't see Smith leaving out FPN, who is a NZ international, on a regular basis. We pay too much for him as it is.
