  • I am not even angry, that was just boring...

Sorry but I refuse to even get angry about that one. It was so farking painfully boring watching such a sloppy Storm outfit (with all their players that they had such a whinge about being without this week) get given biggy-back after piggy-back and STILL farking fail to achieve anything!!!!

Other than a free try when Radley got kicked off for nothing and a penalty from right in front for... I WARNED YOU JAKE!!!! DO NOT ASK ME WHY OR I WILL SEND YOU OFF MATE!!! The Storm did nothing.

Yes Latrell and Cronk missed from right in front (which I accept is our own failing), but we were plain and simple penalised out of the game. It was like watching wrestling FFS!!!! It was like slow motion torture where the refs had been ordered to make sure scores were level with 5 to go so that people could see a shoot-out contest. We lost the shoot-out contest because the Storm were given field position for the shoot-out contest (from a string of fake penalties). It was just so farking boring!!! Doubt any Adelaide fans are gonna get on board after that... is every game so farking boring and rigged?

The best team lost but I agree with you it was a boring penaltyfest. We should have won but that’s what we get for not having a specialist kicker this season. We could be in 3rd place but one missed kick in front - a no no - and we stay on 6th.

I am angry. Any goalkicker worth their salt should be able to put it over 10 metres out next to the posts. It was a very poor attempt and probably lost us that game. You could tell he was devastated at the end of the game and in the sheds. I doubt he will ever take a kick like that lightly again, which is the only good thing about it.

You are right that it was slow. The Storm got away with murder. It reminded me of the semi against them in 2014 when we had Cummins. There was half the play the balls in that game to other ones that weekend.

When Smith was being warned about too many penalties, he stands like a young kid being told to behave by the teacher and they all have a good laugh. He’s actually playing on the perception that he controls the refs almost like taking the piss. Well he obviously gets away with it and good on him. Meanwhile Atkins treats Jake like his been busted for DUI. Jake doesn’t have that ability and never will.

And the Roosters' ex-drizzle player didn't get away with what he got away with when he was wearing the drizzle jersey - I wonder why?
Lattrell's miss sums him up as far as I'm concerned and whilst not in SKD's rocks and diamonds league, he goes there sometimes.

As to the OP's view that the game was boring, does that pertain to the 15 penalty first half or to the entire game?

To be fair all if the best have the occasional blooper from right in front (I have seen JT do it more than once). It happens and Latrell is kicking at a good percentage this season (with good technique...etc). Fergo has kicked well as a replacement when needed and SST is strong too. IMO our kicking is better than it has been for a while.

Also, arguably Latrell did a freakish kick (probably accidentally) that shoulda led to a try because it caught the defence off-guard. Given we were ready and waiting to receive the ball (in perfect position) it does actually raise the question of whether it was intentional... if you kick at the inside of the post then generally you will either hit it or score the 2 points... worth trying in close games IMO. Gotta wonder if it was intentional!
