Roosters back-rower Ryan Matterson is facing a potentially longer than anticipated stint on the sidelines as his recovery from wrist surgery is taking longer than expected.

NRL.com has been told Matterson may be out for another two weeks after the Tricolours' round 17 bye. Matterson has not played since round 11, with lingering concussion affects from a head knock prompting the club to also undertake the clean-out on his wrist.

    Ryan Matterson (wrist, round 19-20)
    Boyd Cordner (calf, round 18)
    Mitch Aubusson (hamstring, round 18)
    Dylan Napa (knee, round 18-19)

If that means he's over his concussion problems, then that's a relief. Still, pity he couldn't play v Titans as you'd figure Boyd won't be there.

Boyd won't be ready for rnd 18.

But he'll be sweet to go in the game 4 days earlier.

        What a joke.

I can’t imagine he’ll be back this season. Recovery from (traditional) ACL recon is 6-9 months. Those who come back at 6 months have a significantly higher risk of re-injury, which decreases by about 10% per month of additional recovery. Lewis did his in Feb, so the earliest he could come back, with significant risk, would be mid August. Not worth the risk for him to come back for a few games.

Enough of a joke to do something about.

I actually cut my finger at dinner time chopping the onions/beans /carrots/potato's/cauliflower etc for Queen Salvo - so I will be doubtful for round 18 too :-)

Use Angus Crichton as your model. You'll be sweet.

Napa will be rested I suggest as he will be needed later on for sure - need to really get the job done against a decent Titans side who will be faves to beat the Broncos putting them on 16 and still a chance of making the 8 - sure they will need to win 6 or more of their last 8 games- they did the Broncs earler on this season as well.

Come on England beat the Ikea Flat Packs - hope Russia wins too against Croatia - be a classic semi final (England vs Russia) one suggest and a very fiery one too given the political issues lately.

Pre-season Nov 2018 for Lewis is when he will be back in training only -Lewis is bigger than I thought - 183 cm and 96 kg's - similar to Tedesco (184 cm and 96 kgs) - Fergo is 191 cm and 102 Kgs
