    I completely agree with him,fair try !
Bingo. Titans lost to a reserve-grade team and all the can come up with to explain it is a whinge about a try scored in uncommon but logical circumstances (i.e. when we won by 8 and they were only in it because of a controversial decision to bin our 5/8).

Its pretty lame seeing our win branded controversial given that the try was not material to the result.

That’s what the commentators said all night (I don’t blame you for switching them off).

Although, I suspect it happened quite a few times in the early days when everybody was on debut?

    • my question is why did we take a shot at goal in the second half, we were dominating their ruck and we decided to take the shot at goal. we miss the goal, they run away and score a try , which luckly got over turned 2 minutes later. grrrrr

Think they were trying to take another minute or so off the clock while keary was in the bin.

        • I think we got dudded in that match. Butcher didn't score because Flash played at the ball with his leg. As Nat puts it down Flash's leg straightens to go where the ball is being put. You can't do that. The on field decision was try and, on review, Flash has probably played at the ball with his leg.

I think Sullo's try was okay. It would have been better if Sullo had held on to the ball through the tackle (which is why he thought he hadn't scored a try) but if an opposing strips the ball, then it's play on. He very probably didn't knock the ball on after that.

Baptiste's pass to Fauma might have been forward, but whenever the passer stops and goes backward it looks worse than it is. You can definitely say that their number19 should have done a better job at tackling Fauma. The pass might have been forward, might have been flat. The missed tackle was a clear-cut piece of rubbish.

As my mate said yesterday after the game Merry Christmas ..we got a way with a few rare calls .As Gibbo would say any win is a good win.

            • Soooo bloody proud of our young guns! They all ran hard and showed so much emotion especially when Farmer Silly scored!!

At this point if we lost say, Napa to another club we have a choice of Collins who is a similar build but runs harder or Farmer Sillly wooo

That was a poor decision in my book, we should have farted around kicked it into touch and kept the ball in their own end and ask them to come off their own line . Even if we kicked the goal we were letting them get away from their tryline.

                • Haven't watched it yet but judging by the media coverage of the game and the "controversial" O'Sullivan try, it sounds like the Titans were robbed.

I did look at the O'Sullivan video and, while it was definitely an unusual situation, I can see the reasoning behind the decision - the ball was pushed back into the post and it then traveled forward. As long as the force applied to the ball by the player was towards his own try line it was a correct ruling.

But stand by for Todd Greenburg's infallible judgement that the refs got it wrong and the Titans were robbed.

                  • The tabloid sports media and the official NRL site can say all they like about it being a controversial win. In fact they should have focused on a more up beat story, a la the 3 debutants being tryscorers, but no just the regular league negativity. For myself that win said a lot about how strong the club is as no player seemed out of place. The Keary sin binning a bit harsh I thought, seems we have had our fair share of sin bins this season and hope it doesn’t cost us a semi win.

                    • If either of the O'Sullivan or Faamusilli try were awarded to a team playing against us ...... We would all call it a no try any day of the week and would scream murder so let's not try to justify the try or the reasoning and lets just accept and rejoice in the fact that we finally got the rub of the green last night!

                      • Still 5,623 rub of the greens to go before we catch up to other teams who've played us.

It was the right call, 100%.

Wind the clock down (with 12 men on the park), and get the ball back.

Titan’s short dropout and regather was a Hail Mary and was unlikely. I’d do same again.

The goal post knocked it on, so what does the famous rule book say about that?
The game managers said it was a try...so a try it is.

From the front-on angle the pass looked ok, maybe flat.

Titans Taylor throws forward passes 'all' the time...not all get pulled up.

Lol. Is there a Zac in Star Wars? I didn't know. Didn't get the name from there. Nor, in case you're wondering, did I get it from Penrith stalwart Zac Olejarnik ...
