Wind the clock down (with 12 men on the park), and get the ball back.

Titan’s short dropout and regather was a Hail Mary and was unlikely. I’d do same again.
just on the short drop out. The ball definitely didnt travel 10 meters.

The game managers said it was a try...so a try it is.

From the front-on angle the pass looked ok, maybe flat.

Titans Taylor throws forward passes 'all' the time...not all get pulled up.
I remember hearing years ago the player forcing the ball on goal posts was considered a try, because the posts we're considered part of the try line.
Anyway it's probably a decision they won't be faced with for another 10 years or so if ever again.
      Great win onward and upward.

Nah man, I mean't your amusing use of Sullo and Fauma.

Although I think there might have been an Ewok called Zac in Return of the Jedi.
Making Steve Naughton look like Vince Mellars...

Exactly. A little known Rugby rule and I’m sure it applies in league. The uprights are considered part of the ingoal and should constitute a try if players press the ball in a downwards motion with their torso.

10 points for knowing this easts4eva. Be interested if someone can confirm this is the case in League. It definitely was the rule in Rugby when I sat the exam.

Then why was play allowed to continue?

Can anyone remember a “we got it wrong” announcement relating to a error that went against the Roosters? Ever?

                    • I've looked at the SOS try. There was no knock on. Match officials got it right.

The Sutton brothers have got issues.

There have been a few, they came out after the Dragons match and admitted that the Nene McDonald try should not have been awarded.
                        ...

I agree. Both on that it was a try - and that it's odd that Sutton can come out and say that they got it wrong.

Sullo probably knocks it back onto the goal post and then it bounces forward. How is that different from a player passing it backwards and then the ball floating forward?

                            Agree.

if titans had scored off a pass like Baptiste threw, i would be filthy.

                            • Why is it that.....

On the rare occasion we get a lucky call it becomes the subject of an official retraction or apology that the officials got it wrong.

But the many many times we get stitched up the silence is deafening and the winning team is lauded for their courage, dominance etc.

Even Nick Walshaws match report today focussed in its entirety on how lucky we were...not a mention of the efforts of our undermanned squad.

                              • The issue here is that Sutton just seems to pick random moments to chime in to the conversation.

I love that he's come out and said they got it wrong... because they did. More of it please, don't go in to hiding as soon as there's a decision that affects a team who isn't like the Titans. I.e their season is already over.
