  • If Carney's still around next year, heres my 2012 team

    2012 team:

    1. T. Carney
    2. A. Minichiello
    3. J. Leilua
    4. S. Kenny-Dowell
    5. S. Perrett
    6. B. Anasta (c)
    7. M. Pearce
    8. J. Ryles
    9. J. Friend
    10. M. Kennedy
    11. M. Aubusson
    12. F. Nu'uasala
    13. A. Guerra

    14. M. Masoe
    15. J. Warea-Hargreaves
    16. B. Takarangi
    17. A. Mitchell

    Pushing for spots:
    18. T. Symonds
    19. T. Arona
    20. A. Cherrington
    21. J. Carney
    22. B. Cordner
    23. T. Moga
    24. E. Lowe
    25. K. Evans
    26. J. Littlejohn
    27. L. Tasi
    28. G. Dumbrell

Braith is a 5/8 not a backrower. Mini needs to retire or if not, put him back on the wing and have Todd play fullback again ala 2010.
    Just my thoughts.

I like it, but Boyd, Tasi (been strong), Bosden (I know unproven), Tagive... any others?

FPN to lock - Guerra to right or left edge.

We have outstanding talent that is hard press not to put in the squad of 17. As much as we have in our heads our best starting line up more than likely it will never be a reality. With injuries an supensions the side can change all the time. Its great to see that when one falls we have one to fill in. I can't wait to see Cherro get a run an Aubo back. Them on the fringe is going to give us great strike out there an with Kennedy back he'll push Ryles all to his best.

I like it Kiwi Rooster. A few minor differences maybe but the key is if we have Anasta and Carney in the same team then Anasta can't play in the forwards. The Anasta/Mini/Carney switch is essential in my view if all three players remain at the club.

I would cop that with Mini hanging back with Carney as he is very safe under the high ball.

Looking at the squad we are going to have to lose some players next season to many good young guys for them not to be playing first grade i would be happy to see FPN go and Ryles

Ryles, like last year, has gotten better and better as the season goes on. He has been close to best on field in the last few matches. When he goes off for an interchange, our forward back loses something IMO..I think it is experience.

I do recognise he gives away a penalty a game, but that is because he gets involved in the game.

You're right alex, something's got to give and I hope it isn't Ryles. FPN on the other hand can leave now.

One thing I don't understand is why the Roosters have so many backrowers on their books and then sign another in Bosden.

Put Carney at #7 and Bwaif at #6, then you might get somewhere.

                    Strong squad.

I don't know about Mini on the wing.

We got to a GF in 2010 which is further than the Vermin have managed in the past 30 odd years. And will manage for the next 30 odd years.

No matter who we play in the halves, they will be vastly superior to any combo your mob will produce.

Vermin - joke of the league and the perennial underachievers. Faark me, they're slobbering through their teethless gums at the thought that they MAY make the top 8.

You made the grand final last year on the back of the immense talent of Carney. He was so good he could cover all the deficiencies in Wayne's Sons' game. This year, without so much of Carney, well, have a look at how you're going.

You need a good half, Carney is one.

Ha ha ... mate he has been very good recently. It would be very hard to argue otherwise. He is really getting those offloads going and the penalties have been minimal. He seems to be bending the line nicely and making good metres as well. If he keeps it up I'm happy for him to go around again. I just hope he comes out firing in Round 1 next season though. Maybe I should get him mobile number and give him an abusive call once a week just to wind the old fella up!

Question.....is your dislike of Wayne & Mitch coming from a man love rejection from these two????
