Simple:
Their home game, Robinson the ref [have we ever won a game under him?], the Jack Gibson Cup, they're out to avoid the spoon, fine day/night, they played well last game although losing, and their players will be going all out...their 'Origin' night, they'll lift.
I predict a big and vocal crowd..."Parra", "Parra"...getting behind their players.
They're last on the ladder, but our line break specialist and top goalkicker is suspended.
Our team has played better recently...hopefully that will be enough.
With a big and vocal crowd that stadium becomes a 'cauldron'.

To love Easts is to hate Souffs

The best teams in the comp have struggled beating them there.
Go chookies! Lets make it 3 in a row!

Also I have rarely seen a game where ALL the motivational factors favour one team so pointedly. Eels are at home, desperate to avoid the spoon and Hayne was quoted as saying that they are treating it as a "season defining game". We are away, can neither get the spoon nor make the finals and are playing in a game with little attention being paid to it due to Manly v Storm. An even bigger factor will be the temptation to have our minds on next week. A last round clash at home against the potential minor premiers is more or less the finals game you have when you haven't made the finals.
We won't get many plaudits if we win tonight, but I think we'll deserve a few if we do under the circumstances.
