  • Smith to become Roosters Director of Coaching

don't be surprised if Smith is shuffled to become Director of Coaching in the off season, with either Elliot or Taylor becoming first grade coach, it means we don't have to sack him and the players get what they want in a change of coach.

would work ok. i think smith, taylor and elliot although individually can be criticised at times for their performances as coaches, as a unit, with mescia returning as strength and conditioning would definitely be among the best coaching staffs in the league.

      Disaster.

      Complete ego fest.

Give it to Taylor or Smith.

Piss off Elliot. Why he's on board I'll never know.

Which players have indicated to you they want a change of coach?

If anyone is to take over smith it has to be Taylor he will bring us a premiership

Elliott used to be a Rooster.

Phil the Gouldman thinks he's a good coach...so that's enough for me.

Yes, and the fact that he's an experiencd coach and a nice man.

Fearless Phil knows stuff about footy...he built us our 2002 Premiers team you know.

that will do me.. Gould failed because he too often went for the quick fix and signed ageing veterans who offered nothing.. Graham Murray actually dispensed with this and was willing to give the young guys a go.. He couldn't get them there as a coach but gave them the opportunity to gain the experience which Ricky Stuart took advantage of. Gould could have coached another 5 years but i doubt he could of brought us a premiership. Experienced and Nice are good but unfortunately it takes a bit more than that to be a successful coach.

Gus also recommended Smithy for the job.

Fletch that would retard the Roosters by at least 10 years!
