    It's not ideal, but frankly I've got no issue with it. Play like shit, cop some potentially shitty refereeing decisions. It's not like we're not used to it by now anyway.

    Maybe the newbie hasn't been inducted into the referees 'thou shall do everything imaginable to make the roosters lose' code of ethics. Could be a plus having the rookie!

      No, that was a vidiot ref decision.

      As for moaning about a debutant, get over it. They have to start sometime. At least nothing is really at stake. Trials are not a good indication because things are more relaxed with little real scrutiny/coverage.

        When the 12th placed team plays the 16th placed team, they dump newbies as refs.
        If both teams were much higher on the ladder, you get the 'better' refs. But they have to start somewhere.
        We should beat parra comfortably, even with dodgy newbie ref rulings!
        Trials are not as intense, not the pressure cooker of an actual nrl game.
