When we do produce a local junior they usually end up quality ones.

Luke Ricketson, Bryan Fletcher, Ryan Cross, John Peard, Johnny Mayes and Peter Tunks are a few examples of good juniors that have gone on to first grade and in many cases representative honours.

I'm sure there are many others.

Or is there no difference these days..??

I am just not sure what position he plays..
Positions are a thing of the past at most clubs these days.

You get a spot on the grid you defend and attack in generally.

Most coaches like to control where a player plays, what side they prefer to pass to and what side they prefer to defend on etc.

Exceptions are made for some attacking players like 1/2s and FBs on some plays to play off the cuff.

Theyre athletes nowadays, very few footballers out there IMO.

          You know it makes sense.

i didnt realise he was a 5/8...the way he has been hitting the holes and running those angles on the edges he has looked like a more ranga'd version of creagh.
really like the look of him

Yes, I agree. By what I have seen of him this season, he is most damaging when he is running the ball, rather than trying to set up plays. Wouldn't look out of place at lock, but maybe needs to put on some size to consider him in the second row (that will come, he is still very young). I probably wouldn't play him as a 5/8
