Watching the replay and the medico initially checking his lower leg for movement it did look like there was too much there. When he went to Keary's other leg to check and it had less movement. I know when I saw it first time on screen I though it could be a medial. We're all hoping he's okay. No-one can adequately replace Keary for us to play the same type of game. We would have to adjust. The choice of Matto would give us more of a power game, but our defence has been rock solid early since his return. O'Sullivan is a genuine half back whereas Keary is a natural ball runner. If it comes to it, I would go for experience as in the crunch games the younger guys could present a big risk factor. .

Suspend fricken Collins for falling on our key player. Plus for going to sleep right on half-time.

Early reports are @sydneyroosters Luke Keary has a grade two medial tear. Chooks are hopeful he’ll only be missing for 3 weeks. MRI scans this morning to confirm

3 weeks for a grade 2 is usually the minimum recovery time so that might be a bit hopeful, in reality if he makes it back for round 24 or 25 he will be doing well.

            Club just released injury report
Keary out for up to 4 weeks

Sydney Roosters medical staff can confirm that Keary sustained an MCL strain that will see him unavailable for selection for up to four weeks while he undergoes rehabilitation.

Hopefully have him back for one last hit out before the finals in Round 25 against the Eels.

Never great to have injuries, but grateful it isn't season ending.

Wow initial reports were he had a tear and now it’s only a strain?!?!

If that’s the case he will be back in a couple of week in my opinion

Yep absolutely brilliant that it's a strain and not a tear.

He'll be back for round 24-25. Fantastic!

Four weeks isn't too bad. Shame he won't be there for the Souffs game.

Gee that’s bad luck for Luke. Grade two is usually minimum 3-4 weeks rehabilitation and two weeks of training to get back to full contact. They won’t bring him back till round 25 or first week semis. Rest him and then unleash him in semis.

What a shame.. He has been on fire.

Best thing to come out of it is that he will be back later this year.

Report also says he will be gone for 'up to 4 weeks'. So is there a possibility that its a grade 1 and he could be back in 2 ready for the Souffs game? Or the game after.

My minor premiership bet depends on it

Turn the negative into a positive...we get stronger moving into the finals when hes back, and fresh again.

The four week max on this injury is a big plus. We can't bring him back too early. Keep Luke fresh and raring to go. This could turn out to be a positive as it gives us the flexibility now to move a couple of players around and cover bases just in case. That can't hurt us as a team - I see it as a plus. We did okay against the Titans with a patched up side and the young guys got invaluable experience. It will all count coome finals time.

I'd have Matto first choice as he can run and slip a ball in traffic. There is no Keary style replacement (Maloney was the closest) in our club. Lam has not tasted first grade and SOS and Cornish are not natural runners. Radley? Not sure about five eighth, kicking etc and that counts Aubbo out who did play five eighth coming through our ranks. Even did so in an U-20's grand final that we lost from memory. But could put Matto there and bring Butcher up. We'll soon see what Trent thinks.
