  • An amazing story from the RAISE UP A ROOSTER night!

A postie read a story in The Daily Telegraph about Glenn Sargood and the Raise Up a Rooster night. He turned up tonight with his missus in tow and wanted to pay the $500 entry for he and his wife but was told the joint was sold out.

Undeterred he asked if they could buy some raffle tickets for the $18,000+ car to help out. He did.... $250 worth!!!!! After that effort he and his wife were offered two spare seats at a table by a generous person there tonight.

The raffle for the car was drawn later on and who else but the postie won! He was very shocked and humbled by the win.

    Cutting to the chase.....

Less than half an hour later the postie (sorry didn't catch his name) and his wife were on the stage announcing that they had had a chat and that they didn't really need a second car and had decided to donate the car to the Sargood family.

    What an amazing gesture.

    Absolute legends!

Unbelievable is all I can say.

It was the last two tickets on one of my tables, he came over and said he wanted to help out and said as I can't buy a ticket I bought some raffle tickets and said goodbye, so we stopped him and said we have a couple spare your welcome to stay and the rest is history

      What an amazing human being....

It does restore your faith in humanity doesn't it, reading stories like this.

You were destined to have the car BG, and no one deserves it more than you and your family. Enjoy mate.

It's made my Friday morning so much bettere reading this.

Put together a well written summary of the night and maybe he will - do it now and it might make the "saints" part of his Sunday Tele column

I'd also send it to nicolussic@newsltd.com.au

and great to hear that the night went so well for you Glenn

                        all the best

Damn!...just the day I get to his program late, at 10.30 and he was talking about it earlier.

                          Hope he said something nice.

I would prefer a real journalist write the story rather then a gossip columnist like Rothfield but the postie deserves credit ( though im sure that's not the reason he did it, he still deserves it)

Giving a new car to someone else is big huge gesture, especially if one is a postie or similar.
