A postie read a story in The Daily Telegraph about Glenn Sargood and the Raise Up a Rooster night. He turned up tonight with his missus in tow and wanted to pay the $500 entry for he and his wife but was told the joint was sold out.
Undeterred he asked if they could buy some raffle tickets for the $18,000+ car to help out. He did.... $250 worth!!!!! After that effort he and his wife were offered two spare seats at a table by a generous person there tonight.
The raffle for the car was drawn later on and who else but the postie won! He was very shocked and humbled by the win.
Cutting to the chase.....
Less than half an hour later the postie (sorry didn't catch his name) and his wife were on the stage announcing that they had had a chat and that they didn't really need a second car and had decided to donate the car to the Sargood family.
What an amazing gesture.
Absolute legends!
