Finch is a clown, and was an absolute disaster for us. One of Ricky's worst moves dumping Craig Wing for Finch. I hated him playing for us and ****ing things up when we had a great team. Shit kicks, poor passes , missed tackles and stupid penalties wee his trademark. Now he is just a sidekick who has no clue what he is saying until after he has said it.

          You summed that up well.
The finch decision set us back a lot.

whether you believe he was good or bad on the field is not the total issue here Jack.

the guy has self admittedly stated he had a massive problem with drugs and alcohol.
‘That was happening while he was playing with us.

i like the bloke. I’m sure if we met and got to know each other we would get on really well.

i believe that when he was playing for us I could see his performances being consistently substandard. I watched him very closely for years.
under pressure he almost always took the wrong option.
he would kick it dead, he would throw a poor pass, he would knock it on. His defence was OK in my mind. Just couldn’t handle pressure and now we know why.

he shouldn’t bucket on the club......the club protected him for years.

Finch was even more disappointing than Pearce, if that’s possible.

The Wall was one Finch post after the next, most critical while a lunatic fringe stuck by him no matter what.

              Sound familiar?

Mate he wasnt the best half/player in the game...we all know that, him included.

It sounds like he maintained some "old school " off field behavioral values, which were widely accepted in years past - even applauded for some champions of the game.

I have met him..a likable larrikin with no pretentiousness of some players.

I dont think he 'bucketed' on us compared to other idiots in the media. He is still well liked amongst the players.

Anyway, bugger all that..big game looming tomorrow.

well said Jack - we all hated Finch in patches during games that's for sure - but he did have his heart in the right place i think. Yes the Pearce similarities are many as well - but Pearce was better than Finch surely we all can admit that. Remember the FOFF movement!

Big big game tomorrow you are right and i'm excited - Big Kev excited!

Say what you will about Brett Finch, he never dry-humped a dog on camera while biochemically "under the weather".

I thought he was unlucky not to get the Dally M in 2004. Danny Buderus, playing in a team that didn't have other players taking points off him, pipped him at the post.

Johnny is referring to the Father's Day Bikie Massacre at the Viking Tavern in the early 1980s....

Ah yes. I do remember that. Did Nable play a character in a TV series adaptation of it or something?

Yes. He played Jock Ross, head of the Comancheros. He got shot in the head at Milperra.
