It was our dumb rushed plays which let them back in. We had to just focus on completing sets and not trying anything fancy but the temptation to put the game away was too great. We get easily sucked into complacency once we get ahead. Against Souths we can’t afford to be dumb or they’ll wipe the floor with us.

People seem to forget that this Cowboys team was favourite to win the comp this year. Their issue this year has been appalling completion rates. Against us they completed at 97% and their first error was in the 78th minute. He might not be what he was, but Thurston is still in the top 3 or 4 halves in the game. Their pack are a bunch of monsters, led by Taumalolo who is superhuman. The cowboys would have beaten almost every team in the comp had they played them instead of us.

Lets give some credit to the opposition here, they might be cellar dwellers, but the quality is there and if they can complete at 97% from here on they could easily go 4/0.

Yeah. Put it this way - I'd rather play most other teams in the top 8 than the Cowboys completing at 90+%.

I agree with what you're saying, not enough credit has been given to the Cowboys. Yes, we made a couple of average plays at different times and Robbo pointed this out in the press conference, but the Cowboys played an up tempo, off loading game and the passes stuck. That's very hard to defend against and we did well to hold them at bay in the end.
