leaving not having Keary aside, this is the perfect time to play the vermin, our ruck defense has been atrocious the last 3 weeks and there is no better test of our middle defense than facing Cook and the Burgess brothers.

prefer our defensive structures get a solid workout a month out from the finals so it gives us time to work on any issues that arise.

Good point. I think it will be tougher than the cows because their forwards are more mobile and Cook is a good ball runner (although TBH Luke was about as good - IMO Souffs play a game that relies on forwards marching through everybody then the hooker doing a dummy-half run when the time is right).

We should win... Souffs have no right to be where they are on the ladder with the squad they have got. However you win on the field, not on paper evidently.

I think we were expecting to be up by a lot more against the Cows. I hope we don't expect anything this week. Even if we play our best, our opposition is likely to put in a 98% completion effort.

Both teams forwards faced tough forward packs last weekend so it will be a good test this Friday!

What no one on the Chookpen has mentioned is that nearly all the points scored against us by the Cowboys came from either second phase ,which we should try to stop or giving away stupid penalty's which we can also stop. If it wasn't for their player getting the ball away with 3 of our players on him then they would not have scored at least two of their tries against us.

Also no Douehi leaves them very thin in the halves. They're relying on the super fragile Reynolds to not miss a beat health wise otherwise they're toast.

Very excited for this game. Looking for us to do the same to Souths as we did to St George. I think that Souths are very vulnerable around their edges which plays right into our hands. Our centres are firing and if Jake and Teddy keep looking to go the short sides we should score some points.

Defensively we will have to be solid in the middle which i think Jake will take personally in a bout with Cook, considering Jake's form of late should be a good contest. Really looking for our big guys to keep on challenging their pack with our defense getting up and meeting them rather then sitting back and letting them come to us. The channel between Cords and Matto is what concerns me at the moment, looks like they are both gassing at times which is opening up that side. I Feel like we should be okay as they don't really have a really good ball player so if the guys keep numbered up we should be okay.

Would love to see us knock them off and then take out the minor premiership with a premiership to follow......I know one game at a time and all that but would be great to know that by beating Souths on the weekend they missed out on winning the comp.
