) Goiuld really wants to keep Cleary, so needs his Dad to be coach to do this
2) Cleary snr has been offered big bucks to be there and so will eat humble pie and go back to a p[lace he was sacked from
3) this move has the added benefit of being able to divert salary cap funds to the father i.e. pay the son less and the dad more
4) cant risk keeping Griffin any longer as Penrith may do well, then he'll be harder to get rid of
5) needs to look like there was no prior conspiracy, so Gould says he has twelve applications and offers big money to a rival coach he knows won't take it

I think the Chooks will sack Robbo after the Souths game so he can go to Penrith for 2 weeks & then return to the Roosters for another 2 weeks then back to Penrith for 2 weeks steering both teams to the GF & winning another comp.

Maybe there is no truth in this thread, but I had a similar thought yesterday and was talking to some mates at golf about us signing Trent up for an extra 2 years a few weeks ago. It seemed strange to me at the time but makes sense now because Uncle Nick would have heard the rumours of what was about to happen at Penrith. Maybe it was a smart move.
