  • Friend calls out the surrender tackles!!!

Great work to call out the surrender tackle by the Capt and no doubt under instruction from the coach.
It wasn't talked about on the Fox coverage, but it was on the 9 coverage (Yeah I watch both!!!....I need a life... haaaa)
Souths only intent when running the ball is to hit the ground for a quick play the ball. You barely touch them and they are on the ground playing the ball.
This is not how rugby league is meant to be played!!!!

I hate those old blokes calling radio talk back complaining about the ref calling held or surrender etc. I hate the surrender tackle!! CALL IT OUT!!!!!

Rugby league is about the off load, bringing ball playing into the game. Little men sniffing around the big men in the middle. Exposing the big men!!!

    Keep calling them out!!!

Yes and he deserves to be sacked immediately.

Those 58 tackles did it for me personally. The 95% tackle efficiency is bullshit.

Not to mention his much loved opposing 9 didn’t break us once.

    This man must go NOW.

    The FlogPen .

    You know it makes sense.

Go to any rugby league club from juniors up the A grade. Every club will coach their forwards to find their knees and elbows and get a quick play the ball. I don't think friend was calling out what they were doing. He was bagging the ref's for not calling surrender which would allow the defensive side more time to hold the attacking team down, mitigating the purposeful surrender.

Bigchook, that was my point. I know that's the way the game is now coached, but it sucks. I can't stand it as the ref will call a penalty one time and then not the next.
Cordner is good at it also.... but Souths whole game is based on this, which if fine, but its crap and its not football.
Big artie never surrendered, even Corey Parker was looking for the off load all the time...that's skill!!!
Friend was hammering the refs about it and the fact the ref was yelling let him go to our guys when it was clearly a surrender tackle.
It was driving me mad, yet we still did extremely well to mitigate Cooks effectiveness.

It was discussed in detail by Gus & nine as it happened

to be fair it seemed the refs took it on board therafter

the Surrender tackle & a souths weapon is now exposed

It has become clear that Souffs whole tactic (apart from constantly trying to milk penalties) is diving into the ground like the Sharks did under Lang and then get a quick play the ball for Cook to do his thing.

This is why the ten metre rule needs to be looked at. It was brought in to make teams be more creative, but it (like the 'use it or lose it' rule in rugby), has eventually had the opposite effect. Playing the game so fast so it is physically impossible for the defending team to get onside is not my idea of the greatest game of all.

Was it just me or did Sutton and the bunker do everything they could to fu2k as over?
That call on fergo and the play the ball, just shows the bunker reviewing us and looking for faults in the background.

That scum club has to resort to tatics that are not in the spirit of the game, cheating scum. Proud to be a Rooster in spades after watching those pathetic losers with their pathetic touch footy bullshit. That Cameron Murray should be deported.

Yet the refs couldn’t spot boo being taken out of cronks kick in goal

                        Good thread.

Souths average play the ball speed was 2.99 seconds and ours was 3.44 seconds which means that every second play the ball for them was pretty much a full second quicker. In terms of setting the defensive line that is a huge advantage and, combined with their 57-43% advantage in possession, makes me wonder how we won!

If the refs aren't calling 'Surrender' when there is an intent by the ball carrier to just find the ground and have a quick play the ball, then they are pretty much asking the defensive team to pull down their pants so that they can **** them up the arse.

Ridiculous call. There was nothing wrong with it.
