Sutton is known to be a vermin supporter right? If that is common knowledge, I would think he wouldn't be allocated vermin games. It seemed to with some of the penalties against the Roosters that the same thing done by a vermin player was let go - Manu not fully getting to his feet for example.

Souths average play the ball speed was 2.99 seconds and ours was 3.44 seconds which means that every second play the ball for them was pretty much a full second quicker. In terms of setting the defensive line that is a huge advantage and, combined with their 57-43% advantage in possession, makes me wonder how we won!

If the refs aren't calling 'Surrender' when there is an intent by the ball carrier to just find the ground and have a quick play the ball, then they are pretty much asking the defensive team to pull down their pants so that they can **** them up the arse.

I thought that was Badger whos a souths supporter... As for the Manu penalty...yeah I thought it was bad but on the replay he didn't seem to have a hand on him and just fell down from being unbalanced or trying to milk one, but he's too young and hasn't got the milking down to a tee yet like BMoz

If this has really served to "out" them like some are claiming, and the refs actually start calling them surrender tackles, then I believe Souffs are gone, as it is almost their entire game plan - barging forwards surrendering, quick play the ball (or penalty) and Cook running around retreating defenders trying in vain to get back onside.

Yes I think it was when the Walker/Tedesco interference was checked and since it wasn’t Sutton gave a drop out which is when Friend approached Sutton. Sutton at the time seemed like he was dismissing Friend because he isn’t a good talker like Smith but apparently the refs started to call out surrender on Souths more often. I didn’t know that was an issue in the game because so what if a player goes down faster just so he can play the ball quicker but apparently it is. That whole surrender thing to me is a little confusing because it’s all subjective to the referees call...

And as to your comment above, the discretionary nature of "surrender" and "dominant" calls is the problem, but one I wouldn't know how to fix.

Yeah that was frigging bullcr@p... then in the following tackle the ref had the hide to blow a penalty against us for hanging on too long or some sh*t.

They were crowding us all day. Dead set... who was it? Somebody (Manu? I forget) knocked on for supposedly playing it incorrectly when a Souffs dude was standing there preventing him from standing up. He dropped the ball intentionally, pushed the defending player back and that was deemed to be a play-the-ball. What makes it worse is that earlier on Burgess literally just dropped the ball and walked off after a tackle. Souffs picked it up and played on with me being like WTF just happened?!?!? Nobody played the ball!!!
