The word "legend" gets thrown around a lot these days, but it's appropriate when talking about Hugh. A shinning light in some of our darker transit lounge days.

Ive been a supporter since 87 and in my eyes these are the legends since I have been following:

      McGahon
      Salvo
      Mini
      Ricko

Fitzy wasn’t ours originally and neither was Freddy. But honorable mention to these 2.

I believe 3 of our current squad will end up as legends as long as they end their careers at our club.

Love that list Thirteen. Not a legend but loved what Simon Bonetti did for us also

Numero Uno in my books, his interview was sublime, it is terrific to still hear him refer to the club as us / we.

Surely when the club gets off its arse and has its next hall of fame dinner, he has to be inducted

Two brothers who who got up to 20’s (I think) at Penrith and Canberra (respectively), who had career-ending injuries talk footy. They watch every match, every week.

One brother coaches Harold Matt’s or Ball at the Tigers I think.
              I'll give it a go.

Just started listening to Hughie. When he got onto how much he hates Souffs my respect for the man grew massively.

Neither was McGahan mate. He’s a Kiwi who came here at the age of 24.

But he never played for another NRL club. Do you not agree that Hugh is a Roosters legend?

Sure. But you’re excluding Freddy and Fitzy on the basis that they weren’t “ours” initially. By that criteria you would need to exclude McGahan who was a fully established Kiwi test player when he came.

But never having played for another NRL side in my opinion makes him a Roosters legend.

Freddy and Fitzy only played for us cause of the money. Of course they have since proven themselves to be genuine Roosters men.

Nope I still don’t get it. He came from somewhere else. Just because that somewhere else wasn’t an NRL club, I don’t see how that makes him anymore of a legend than Freddy or Fitzy who started younger and played a lot more games.

Fitzy came for opportunity. He was warming the bench behind Bartrim and Treacy and Thompson.

Freddy money but without Stoopid League may never have.

Would that exclude Artie and coote as legends because they came from tigers and bunnies? Horrie has to be in any conversation as a roosters legend he was our best player for a long time when we had a very good team
