  • another big late season game another flop of an attacking performance

no different to so many big games between 2014-2018, our attack simply breaks down when it counts the most.

no idea how any decent attacking game plan involves our centres basically not touching the ball for 50 minutes.

can't wait till Adam O'Brien arrives this offseason and changes our attacking structure.

The only positive is that finals football becomes defence oriented

This was a meaningless game. Far from big.

that luke keary injury has been our attacking demise. our attack was like if matterson was still five-eighth. clunky and dull

attack was woeful and defence not much better - cannot see them making any dent in the premiership - be lucky to beat Parra whom I am sure will be up for a big game in their last game of the season - chooks need to win to finish top 4 but will be out in straight sets on tonight's form if they do manage to finish top 4

Not sure I agree it was a big game but none the less I agree with he premise of this thread.

We've now lost more games this year than we did last year.

That's despite the addition of Tedesco & the huge improvement from Laterll, Manu & Fergo... point scoring should have become easier yet it feels like we're struggling as much as we ever did against the top teams. Got to think it is structural.

Yeah but last years comp was pissweak. We won 17 games but only finished with a points differential of +72.

This year we're over double that with 2 less wins.

So we're a much better team than last year imo.

It all starts from the tactics, simple.

Is radley coming into the mix as a bit of a playmaker confusing/congesting us a bit? It seems the train has many stops before the ball gets to latrell/manu. Tonight i mentioned how i love keary sweeping around cronk which led to our try.

Keary is the literall key to unlock either side with teddy a spare but awe3some key.

Are we struggling to hold too many guns for only so many hands? Cords and liu although they go good they play pretty conservatively. Coaches instructions?

I'm starting to think this year isn't any better... the quality of footy has been pretty poor. The last month of footy in particular right across the board has been quite sub-standard.

We just haven't had a gun Melbourne side to really show us just how far off the rest of the teams have been.

Good luck putting money on a winner this far out.... it's a bit of a shit fight.

We need JWH. He gets the attack moving forward. Without him we lack the punch up the middle and were just drifting side to side hoping for something to happen.
