You miss the point he is yet to dominate in u20's in so far as attack. I think we need to see him do that for 3 or 4 games before bringing him into a more defensive 1st grade comp. If he cannot dominate in the u20's which is more high scoring what hope does he have in 1st grade?

Not sure what the site says but hes playing this week..

Our NYC team just like our FG side has been bad, but he still managed score a try a game or so, as well as just coming back from a knee reconstruction.
Just like Idris was blooded in late last year it should do him good for 2010.

You might wait and see if he lasts a few games in NYC before putting him in your first grade side Geo.

Isn't the lad a little injury prone??

Yeah I know its just that the word is that Fittler will be willing to put him in the team if hes solid enough in his return.

I don't think it's the right time to throw Williamson into first grade. If he had played all the U20 games up until now, then yeh sure. But he is coming off a knee injury, played a handful of U20's games (where he was far from good), then broke his jaw and was out for another 6 weeks(?)

He needs at least another 6-8 weeks in U20's to get his fitness and confidence up, then I would consider him for first grade. Considering it will be close to the end of the season, might be an option to blood him for the final 5 first grade matches (our season will be over by then), give him a small taste of what is expected of you in first grade, then start him next season (that is, if he plays well in the U20's this season)

That doesn't give us a reason to rush Williamson into first grade! Everyone in 2007 around this time said that our season was over as well. And we all know what happened there

I reckon we give Williamson the rest of the season in 1sts & that way he is up to speed for next season..
