The AFL has too many women's teams too soon. That's why the NRL started off with just 4 teams.

I have met our newly appointed captain , Sim Taufa , a few times before she was famous lol. Will be a great leader for our team...one of the best players in the comp. Saints have Sam Bremner who is the best attacking player Ive seen so far...accelerates quicker than a lot of the male NRL backs.

What do some of our Chookpen girls think of the comp? Novice, Mighty, Rooster Chick, 6 etc...

The Lip is the best sort on here. She likes middle aged slobs who drink beer go to the footy & go on the Chookpen.

I'm absolutely stoked that the women's comp is up and running, and that we are a foundation club just as we were in the men's comp.

The ONLY club, in fact, to be a foundation club in both the men's and women's comps.

After many years of coaching junior rep boys teams up here in Queensland, I have now been coaching girls rep teams since they started in 2013.
I coached at the recent schools 14-15yrs girls state champs, and Ali Brigginshaw (Broncos, Jillaroos) was my assistant coach. I coached Ali back when she was about 11yrs old and playing rep with the boys, and she still helps me out now...

Women having the same opportunities and pathways as men in our game is something I'm very passionate about, so seeing this starting up is another step in the right direction. Everyone who loves Rugby League should get on board.

Cant wait to see our team run out this weekend!
