  • parking on Saturday

hey everyone i was wondering if the afl starts at 4.20 what will be the best time to leave from bankstown... im guessing atl game will be finished by 6-630 would we be able to park in usual spot infront of scg

No chance AFL will be finished by 6 30. Try 7 30.

If you have a ticket to the game travel by train and then shuttle bus from central station to the ground is free. That would be my recommendation.

I got an email from Ticketek today saying limited parking available in EP2 which is the RHS car park down the dirt track on the grass off driver avenue. But what’s limited -200 cars. Trains best unless your train line has track work.

The EP2 car park is the one at the SFS, Kippax Lake end and is only opened for the NRL crowd on Saturday. The EP3 car park is the one down the RHS/ Hordern Pavillion end and is being used for the AFL crowd.

This is off the SCG site

Public parking will be available in the EP3 car park (via Lang Road) from 12pm for AFL fans and in the EP2 car park from 4.45pm for NRL fans.

These times have been set to ensure that patrons can access parking for both events to be held in the afternoon and evening at the SCG and Allianz Stadium.

Additional space is available in the Entertainment Quarter, which also has a flat rate of $25 per vehicle. The Goulburn Street car park in the CBD will be open to fans once parking in the wider precinct is full.

Sydney Boys (or Girls) High School (other side of Anzac Pde) is another good option. It costs $20 and normally little or no wait to get out of the car park after the game has finished.
Only 10 mins to walk to/from the ground as well!

Parking will be a shitfight I think. Afl takes about 2houts 45 these days - so that game will finish about 715 then that will take 30-45mins to clear so there will be a lot of traffic going in and out - but the problem is if you go early expecting that shitfight the afl traffic won’t be cleared so it won’t do much good - I’d try to avoid driving If I were you.

Train to the ground, stopping at Central, then KB, Forresters, Clock, Cricketers and the SFS. Lovely.

if you musrt drive the sydney high option is the best for $20 and casg goes to school not foxtel or state govt.

                        ^^^^

This person is intelligent. Unless you are like me (and have a nearby underground carpark + apartment where you will be staying) I see zero point in driving to that part of town. You WILL get stuck in traffic and you'll end up paying as much for parking as you will for your gameday tickets.

Don’t park in the back streets thinking you will be ok. It’s all 1-2 hour parking and the parking cops are ruthless around the area on game night. Believe me I know from experience.
