  • Latrell is a great player but he is dumb as dogshit.
Two stupid tackles in subsequent games and so close to finals.
He deserves the weeks off and he is lucky it was only one week.
I wish the club didn't fight it.
It looks bad, he jumped in the air and forced down on the back off his neck, lucky Duguns head pops out prior to him hitting the ground or he would have got 3 weeks as well.

    • does anybody know if other players have tried to fight a crusher type tackle at the judiciary and if so what happened? It seems to me that many so called crusher tackles (not including the chambers one recently) are more accidental rather than intended but maybe most players in the past have chosen to not contest due to the discount available in accepting the charge.

      • Here's another angle...

Ive watched this a couple more times and think what is supposed to damn Latrell, could save him.

The lifting of the feet actually prevents Dugan from getting much greater spinal compression and being folded in half like a handkerchief. Its allows his upper body to fall backwards, and would not have been possible without Latrells little jump in the air. I would argue it was designed to minimise the injury risk rather than increase the chance.

I doubt the judiciary would have the common sense to understand this, but you need to try.

          I fully agree with you.

          • Nothing much in the hysterical media about Sunday's WWE between broncos dragons, sims clearly raised his elbow towards Graham as he was going down. No mention. Yet they preach all this safety first shite.

For latrell, I think the only thing he can really say is look Keary got his legs, I got his torso, as i've gone to ground him Jake Friend has come from behind creating a wall on my back and stopping momentum in my motion of making a regular tackle to the ground.
Which in all honesty I think is exactly what's happened. Jake didn't need to hold Latrell's the back and stop the downward momentum like that.

Anyway whatever happens let's hope souffs and dragons is WWE 2.

            • Latrell's not so much jumping up and down as jumping out of the way of Dugan's falling body ...

                  • Judiciary procedure 2018

A Player is guilty of misconduct if he carelessly, recklessly or intentionally makes dangerous contact with the head or neck of an opposing player.

Now too prove it wasn't careless, reckless or intentional.

Apparently we've got some gun barrister, so fingers crossed!

Btw, we don't have to prove it wasn't careless etc. we have to argue successfully that there is some doubt about it being so.

                            • I have no doubt we will put up the best defense money can buy, won't get Latrell off the charge though, the hearing will probably run 10 times longer than the judiciary panel takes to decide he is guilty.
