South Sydney captain Greg Inglis may come under scrutiny from the match review committee after making a crusher tackle on St George Illawarra's Tim Lafai.

With 10 minutes remaining in the first half of the sudden-death semi-final at ANZ Stadium, Inglis was penalised for the questionable contact on Lafai.

Inglis wasn't placed on report by referee Gerard Sutton, but the match review committee are likely to examine the incident closely.

The winner of the clash will play the Roosters in a preliminary final at Allianz Stadium next weekend.
