Fair point. It could have been Russian agents. Or fairies.

I doubt Russian agents would be involved and fairies don't really exist.

However it could have been members of what is a very extensive entourage when on a football trip, hotel staff, restaurant staff, various hangers on and after game guests invited to drinks etc.

Sorry again. As I don’t spend a lot of time looking at pictures of naked men, I could only use myself as a benchmark.

A horse hey? My Little Pony?

        • It's interesting to note the moral outrage expressed here, stating what a deplorable and despicable man Sam Burgess is without even a single shred of evidence.

I respect that, everyone has a right to moral outrage, even when misdirected and without proof.

However considering Blake Ferguson was convicted in a court of law for indecent assault and Zane Tetevano admitted in court to bashing his girlfriend on four different occasions, just out of curiosity may I ask do you feel some of you are exhibiting gross double standards?

You're happy to have such individuals in your team and treat them like heroes, but you'd like Sam Burgess rubbed out of the game for "maybe" having had a sex chat video with a willing participant who agreed to the chat.

          Interesting.

I would have expected these high moral standards would be applicable to all.

          Interested in your thoughts.

You’ve convinced me. All of the Souths players are completely innocent. On the balance of probabilities, this incident was engineered by Nick Politis in May to ensure that Sam wouldn’t play in a September Preliminary Final. A hotel kitchen hand was recruited to use Sam Burgess’ phone to send pictures of someone else’s dick to a woman while Sam was discussing 17th century religious art with her. She turned out to be in cahoots with Nick and the kitchen hand.

I admire your fertile imagination but I personally highly doubt that Politis was involved, but I respect your right to believe he was.

It’s not moral outrage, mate. It’s outrage about consistency that’s the issue.

All these blokes are stupid and do stupid and sometimes violent things. Do you want me to list some of the other examples from your team? I don’t want to because I greatly admire at least one of the players involved..

It would be difficult to name any members from my team as I have not stated who I support.

I agree there should be consistency. However if, hypothetically, Sam Burgess was found guilty of this, then his offence would be far more in line with Konrad Hurrell's who received a 5k fine and no suspension. People comparing it to Pearce, who was also a repeat offender, are just being silly and vindictive.

There should also be consistency among fans and what we accept as decent and acceptable.

Some of the comments made about Sam Burgess on this forum have been disgraceful and potentially litigious, particularly bearing in mind the same people readily accept Tetevano and Ferguson in their team.

                  Thanks for your response.

And they were punished for what they did, missed games, lost contracts etc Souths seem to have a history of trying to cover up their players indiscretions and hoping they go away. The players you mentioned weren't even at our club when these incidents occurred. One of your try scorers in the 2014 Premiership win somehow managed to keep playing despite having plead guilty to domestic violence charges 3 months before. I wouldn't be throwing the moral standards line around if I was a Souths fan because your club doesn't seem to have any at all.

                    • At last the voice of reason! Einstein come back from the dead to tell us all how much fairer and more logical he is than us! FWIW you don't shit about what happened so don't pretend that you do.

This is a Roosters supporters forum, of course we're going to see things from our own perspective.

I don't have a problem with the sometime visits from supporters of other clubs when they come in the right spirit, but you need to step away from the mic, big boy.

So you're saying you will accept players wife bashing and indecent assault as long as it's in the past?

Okay, I can accept your opinion.

                        Thanks for your response.

I have not told anyone or suggested that I know better than anyone or that I know the facts.

I am trying to present a more balanced point of view as opposed to hanging a man without a shred of evidence.

I have visited this forum for years due to the fact a relative of mine played for the Roosters in the mid 70's, hence my interest in the team, despite the fact I don't actually support the club.

I am being respectful in all my posts and will continue my involvement here without breaking any forum rules.

                          Thanks for your response.

You admit that you do not 'know the facts' so why don't you give it a break.

I would argue you are breaking the forum rule of pushing an agenda.

You're not really being respectful, are you? Not being respectful to the reality that this is a forum for Roosters supporters.

Would that apply equally to all? In other words should everyone who doesn't know the facts give it a break?

I do accept this is a Rooster forum, which makes the obsession with Sam Burgess even more surprising.

However this is an available topic, the thread is open, and I am providing my opinion on the issue just like everyone else who has contributed to this thread.

                              Thanks for your response.

This is a forum of opinion so what is a fact is a bit of a grey area. But, yes, anyone who doesn't know the facts shouldn't be pushing an agenda, shouldn't be making countless, repetitive posts on the one thread.

Not my job, but I wouldn't have a problem if you were banned from the site.

Don't take it personally, and I wish you luck but, yes, this is a Roosters forum.
