Watched U2 there in the Zooropa tour... what a shit place for a concert due to the roof and it’s sound reflections... then again I watched U2 3 times at different venues and they were never that good. If it wasn’t the roof it was Bono’s voice or the rain. U2 never again!

2010 tigers roosters semi easily the best game i saw at this stadium. Whilst i very much like it, the new stadium does look quite epic.
        EASTS TO WIN!

I miss the old Sports ground and the Turner stand. Wasn't a great fan of sitting in a plastic seat in the rain.

They were the two stand out games for us. A pleasure to be there. Great moments in sport.

Like a lot of Sydney planning and development it was about aesthetics and lacked long term foresight and collaboration. One old bloke designing Opera House 2.0. The Dutch and Germans would never build a stadium to commemorate an event (bicentenary), no car parking well South Dowling St is on game night, one lane highways. Now the whole thing has to be knocked down because it's something from yesteryear.

Anyway it looks like Saturdays game is close to sold out except Roosters Cat 3, So cmon chookies ! Get there!

we lost the first ever game at the SFS, so lets go out a winner.
I remember the last game at the Sports Grd, we played Norths, Gary Wurth scored 3 tries in the first 15 minutes, we won. Quite happy if we finish up the same at SFS !

I remember watcing Easts v Norths at the SFS, sometime around 1990 and they got a standing ovation for a draw, it was around the dark years when we didnt make.the semis for years on end

Fark it's bullkrap!!!! My wife and I hit it up when she was 8 months pregnant:
                      1. Some Sharks fan walked up behind her, grabbed her and intentionally scared her while we were walking in.
                      2. Despite having booked reserved seats in the stand, some muddafukka (Sharks official, had a lanyard and all) was like nup... no Roosters fans are entering the stands tonight. This is Sharks territory!!! I was like okay but we paid for the seats and my wife is pregnant so quite literally cannot sit in the dirt. This area is for Roosters fans, it's empty and you are letting Sharks fans who haven't paid for it use our seat. This is outrageous, what's your name?

The dude refused to give us his name, forced us to go sit in the dirt and we could only stay because a kind old lady (seen her a few times since in Melbourne and Canberra) gave up her portable seat + space on the rug that she brought along.

We lost in the last minute due to a bullshyte decision and it took like 4 hours to get outta that shytehole (1 traffic exit... ONE!!! For the whole fukking stadium!!!)

As we were going back we noticed there was no private/reserved parking for the Roosters bus. It was out the front in the dirt and all the players had to walk through the public crowd to get back to the bus (which Sharks fans were mobbing, physically pushing and heckling at).

ABSOLUTELY NEVER GOING BACK THERE!!!!! Their stadium (called Remondis at the time, fittingly) is not up to scratch. Further reason why the Sharks should be re-branded and moved to Adelaide or something...

I will really miss the SFS. Won’t miss the queue for the women’s toilets when there was a big crowd, but besides that everything else I will miss. Great stadium to watch footy. Best game for me was the 2010 semi against the Tigers. Still can see SKD running away to score the winning try after more than 100 minutes of play. Still gives me goosebumps when I see it on highlights.

was that the game Terry Hill scored from a kick off ? Salvo made a bust and offloaded to TH down the right touchline. Plenty of good (and some not so good) memories of the SFS !

I'm still trying to give away my 2nd ticket BTW. Anybody know somebody who cannot go due to the cost or whatever? It's a category 1 ticket in bay 35... next to me (which is admittedly a disadvantage) but they can completely ignore me and watch the game (I won't be offended - I am there to watch the game and show my support for the team).

Salvo was god to me when i was a kid. He had all the skills and played in a dark period for the club when we were legless. Saw him a few years back and told him how much i loved him as a kid, also said how sorry I was to hear what happened to his wife. He was super polite and thankful to me, came across as a top dude. The guy who runs my gym played a handful of games at Souths with him, says he was an infectious bloke to hang around who was always very friendly to fans
