BJ is a special player. Develop him right and we will really see what he is capable of.

Some of his touches are just classy.

I'm tipping you will be praising him this time next year.

I hope I am wrong about many things and that we win the comp next year. At this point in time I believe the combination of the slowest backline in the comp and a mediocre halves combination will not achieve much more than scraping into the top 8 off the back of a promising young forward pack.

I think we are one quality player short of being a top team but we still have a decent squad.

On our backline we aren't flyers but guys like SKD and Perrett aren't slow. We also have some good 20's who also are slick.

To be honest I look at a team like Manly besides Stewart which of their backs are that quick? I remember last year we scored numerous long range tries against them from our own half. They are a top team but don't have great pace.

Look at Melbourne their centres are Nielson (who BJ monstered at times), Blair and Champion. None of those guys are quick but they still do a good job.

I agree we may lack some depth in the 3/4's but the guys there are decent players with some promising kids in the 20's.

BJ came to the club as a back rower, so how he made it onto the wing i have no idea, maybe they thought he looks like Folau maybe he'll play like Folau.

Are you serious? Picture a 4x100m relay of Stewart/Lyon/Hoppa Jr/Wolfman vs the four fastest roosters first graders.

I thought he came to the club as a centre.

Back Row. they even spoke about it on fox and u look a wikipedia and Roosters Site profile they have Second Row as his position, which he hasnt played in First Grade so definately came to the club as a Second Rower.

Hoppa Jr is by no means a flyer I've never seen him run more than 30 metres for a try. He is a bigger kid with great feet more than he is quick.

Wolfman and Perrett are comparable in speed (all round Perrett is a much better player).

Lyon are you joking? Go and get a tape of last years game he couldn't chase SKD over 50 metres. Good player but not quick.

Who else do they have Matai and Robertson? They aren't a quick team but are a good one.

He came to the club as a kid who, as far as know, played a lot of his junior football in the back row.

There have not been many 18 year olds running around in the forwards of an NRL team though..

Look at how slowly, slowly the approach has been with Cordner this year in the forwards..

Give him time...He will be a star...

                            I rate BJ.

Smith has played him out of position, hopefully that changes next year.

Hopefully next year he can cement a spot somewhere he can stay, not to many young kids have played in a GF, so that should help him in what to expect.
Everyone comes to a club as a Kid these days.

I'm sure that in his first few games off the bench, he filled in at second row on the fringe. From memory, he looked quite comfortable there always beating the first man.

As long as his future is in the backrow, i don't mind him finding his feet on the wing or in the centres. Let him grow into his body - he still has 3-4 years to physically mature.

From what i hear, he is very professional when it comes to his body - takes very good care of it. Great to see in such a young player.
