I think a good way to sum it up:
In 2010, the Dwyer hit on JWH was labelled "hit of the century" but in 2013 it would have been a send off and minimum 6 week suspension.
In 2014 the Slater tackle would have been a brilliant try saver, but in 2018 it's a shoulder charge and 1 week suspension.
For fans it's hard to adjust mentalities, but simple fact is that it's a shoulder charge (with force) and as the rules are written is a suspension.
