    • I didn't think previous rulings could be used in evidence?

The fact that they cited him would suggest he's gone. If they wanted to play then much better off to have not to have brought it to the judiciary's attention. Now they're damned if they suspend him and damned if they don't.

I thought things were looking good for Slater (like the Vermin, the Storm seems to have won over Webster to aid their PR campaign), but this latest statement from the family of a shoulder charge victim will be VERY hard to spin away.
MENINGA the shameless immortal called for ‘common sense to prevail’. Yeah, like it did when Slater was awarded Origin MOTS when he never played the full series and was in the losing team. And of course if Slater goes free we know who will win the CC medal no matter who wins.

So in essence Menninga is asking for common sense to prevail which goes against the rules of the game, makes no sense..

The family are the obstacle. Fox were getting him exonerated until they stepped in and shamed Fox immortals, rightly so, as heartless. Fox have shot themselves. A dead player matters more than a grub playing his last game. The judiciary will be called out publicly by the family of the dead player if they don’t play by their own rules and maker a special exemption for Slater. So will other clubs. We’ve had 2 players suspended for a preliminary final - so what. We broke the rules and paid the penalty. So why should slater go free?

                  • What about former decent rl journalist, Andrew Webster? His article today makes for a nice bookend to his Burgess wank fest last week.

Fairfax should dump him and make Proszenko lead RL reporter.

                    • Im going to get bashed up here for saying this but I dont think Slater should be suspended, and hope he isn't.

I want to beat them at full strength , no excuses.

And using the tragedy of the player that died is awful journalism, and not relevant to this case.

But we won’t be at full strength. Why would u want them to be?

We will be close to full strength, I just dont want the opposition with excuses.

Victory becomes sweeter. I have plenty of faith in our team at the moment
