    • 8.35pm: While we wait, it's incredible to think of how much homework Billy Slater puts into his preparation. He admitted in the hearing that he watched every single try of Cronulla wingers Sosaia Feki and Edrick Lee this year to prepare himself for the preliminary final against the Sharks. Love him or hate him, there's no denying his greatness.

Farking hell. These blokes are so easily impressed. Professional footballer watches opposition. Stop Press!

Its his final game and likely Smiths ever. Can you comprehend what an achievement against the odds it would be for us to spoil the fairytale ending?

        • The longer this goes on is making me nervous

By the 3 directions, this should have been over in 30 seconds

It's the 'brain damage' caused by the force of shoulder charges that has seen them banned.
Player's body stops dead...like running into a steel wall, but the brain inside the head keeps going and crashes into the skull...down player goes, unconscious...brain damage over time.
Players brain damaged over time. NRL gets sued...as in NFL in America.

Honestly? How is that amazing? That is essentially about 4 hours work. Good on him for doing his job. Maybe if he spent the time out in the training paddock teaching himself to tackle correctly we wouldn’t be here tonight.

              **** the media are stupid.

              • Are they watching billy's career highlights, even that shouldn't take so long...maybe it's all his acts of foul play and cheating...

                • All pointing to him getting off. With the directives given it should not take this long.

                    I feel the opposite.

They were going to aya not guilty on the right hand technicality and then Bellew's directives completely blew that up.

And now they can't conjure a valid argument to exonerate him.

He will be found NOT GUILTY.

Your comments are absolutely correct and well expressed BB that’s why the NRL has changed the rule to eliminate ambiguity. This judiciary hearing is making an absolute mess of it regardless of the outcome

It only takes a few minutes to apply the 2 rules but it’s the GF that’s causing the delay. This is a very weak judiciary and full of corruption if they can’t make a decision on slater but on yet Mitchell & naps no hesitation at all.
                            Melbourne has got better barristers?

You need to have one to be worried about one. The rest of the NRL set a pretty low bar.
