Good point, like you I’m not believing everything I’m reading regarding Cronk and his shoulder and will only be convinced either way when the team is finalised an hour before kick off!

interesting hearing Anasta and co talking about it after the call on Fox last night. They say an AC is playable... so who knows..as long as it’s not a torn rotator... but I’m sure not any of us will know until the kick off.
I just read that it is a severe left rotator cuff injury...that’s a little more worry than an AC from what I’ve read.

Im a fan, don’t get wrong, but was he needed considering his old clubs success without him? Was he what we needed or could we have also made it this far without him?

Either way, if he plays in the GF, the thought of him up against his old club for the title is truely tantalizing.
I think Cronk has been immense. His leadership has transformed this team and even with one arm he directed our right edge in defence brilliantly.

As for the Storm there's no doubt that they're not as good as last year. It's just that they were miles ahead of everyone else last year so even without Cronk they still have the greatest fullback and hooker ever and the best half or 5/8 in the comp in Munster.

Bingo...and if he cant get 80% right, he will be professional enough to make the tough call.

BTW, I think we can win without him.
if the great wall of Bondi is in place we can beat the Storm without Cronk, the issue will be if we fall behind early and get rattled trying to chase points.

If they don't have Slater, then no worries.

Also Gallens shoulder would cop a shitload more punishment than a halfback would, especially a smart half like Cronk.
I see this as a positive.

Yep, fair points although I think if we didn’t play our worst game of the year in the qualifying final against the Cows, I reckon we would have well taken care of the Storm in the GF. We were probably the only side last year that could have done it.

Right now I am happy. We have achieved what couldn't be done under our last halfback (2013 was Sonny Bill and Maloney and Jennings) so if the NRL wants to give Jockey and Smith a send off with a comp, so be it. Melbourne will crash back to the rest of the pack because I wouldn't let Croft run an under 20's side and Munster is a myth parents tell their children so they'll play soccer.

He could be playing a GF next week.
Pearce would be playing in the grand final this week. Water under the bridge now.
It will be a miracle if Cronk plays- and no he shouldn’t play if he has 1 arm totally useless. He has done everything asked of him and more and done the club, fans and his family proud. Champion player, champion bloke. I hope he remains at the Roosters in some form forever

I still think we can do it with Cronk on the bench till the 78th minute. We nearly beat the Storm with JWH out. Cronk has to be in the 17. We've shown that we ca defend with 16 players many times.

If Cronk has suffered a rotator cuff injury similar to mine, then he is no chance of playing as it took me about 4 months to get it right again.
He can get a cortisone injection to take the pain away, but this could cause further damage and be potentially career ending.
It’s gonna be tough to win it without him, but definitely possible!
                              Go the Mighty Roosters!!

I agree, but this is the NRL rather than the general public. In the NRL, taping up ligament injuries and giving them a jab of cortisone is standard practice. Park footy? You wouldn't do it becaus it's fukking stupid...

IMO we are just as much chance of winning a GF without him as we are with him in his current condition. It'll be tough but IMO it would do wonders for our club's reputation (for players) if management stepped in to say 'mate you are not playing with that injury... we will still pay you the same $1M for this season because you got us into the GF and have done wonders for our club'.

I hate the idea of being without Cronk for a GF (it's such terrible luck) but what are our chances anyway? We are maybe a 40% chance of winning. Next year we gain Crichton + Moreis and the Storm won't be as good. If we give Cronk 4-6 months to recover properly then it's painful, but that will give us the best chance of winning in 2019. And hey... we might still win in 2018! If Slater is suspended and Bromwich is playing with broken ribs then I think it's basically an eye for an eye (and we won't feel guilty running Napa HARD at Bromwich because we don't force players to play injuried, like Souffs did to GI, which is a disgrace because it destroyed such a good player...)
