IMO we are just as much chance of winning a GF without him as we are with him in his current condition. It'll be tough but IMO it would do wonders for our club's reputation (for players) if management stepped in to say 'mate you are not playing with that injury... we will still pay you the same $1M for this season because you got us into the GF and have done wonders for our club'.

I hate the idea of being without Cronk for a GF (it's such terrible luck) but what are our chances anyway? We are maybe a 40% chance of winning. Next year we gain Crichton + Moreis and the Storm won't be as good. If we give Cronk 4-6 months to recover properly then it's painful, but that will give us the best chance of winning in 2019. And hey... we might still win in 2018! If Slater is suspended and Bromwich is playing with broken ribs then I think it's basically an eye for an eye (and we won't feel guilty running Napa HARD at Bromwich because we don't force players to play injuried, like Souffs did to GI, which is a disgrace because it destroyed such a good player...)
Yeah, I can't see how Cronk is any chance to play. And, given the look of his injury, we are probably more chance to win without him that with him. But if we play without him, we'll play inspired by his performance last Sat and all year.

Question. If Cronk can't play is he allowed on as a trainer? Like Peter Wallace running the Penrith side with a yellow or blue shirt . He has one good arm and could carry a water bottle.

I think the Roosters will let him run on with the team , he might play 5 minutes then be replaced if he's no good.
It will cost us interchange , but he deserves to have that jersey on for the Grand Final.

I'd be disappointed if he missed a tackle and it cost us points , but I am 100% confident that he wouldn't let that happen , or the guys on either side of him would not let it happen either.

The only goal for us this Sun is to win. If we win without Cooper then Cooper will be happy. I would love for him to make a miraculous recovery and play but put me down for a no vote to him playing for 5 minutes.

I dont know but would think you need some sort of accreditation to do such a thing What it is and how hard
it is or how long it takes I do not know

We were without JWH, Cordner, Manu and Aubusson for that game. Storm were missing Kaufusi, Finucane and Jesse Bromwich.

If it’s a full rotator cuff tear then I don’t see how they can play him. I just really hope Robbo has the same faith in SOS as he does with Momorovski. I think the only question is whether SOS can do the same job in defence as Cronk. If so you’d have to play him. He’s got a good long kicking game which Keary isn’t known for. Plus he’d be under immense pressure without another kicker. I’m praying that he’s cloned Cronk’s defensive game. The way Cooper shoots up to almost in line with the ball to cut out the thought of early shifts and then backs back to play passive and wait for his inside defender to provide inside pressure. If SOS doesn’t defend in a similar way I don’t know that Robbo would go for him.

Also a bit worried that we might have played our GF already. That defensive effort was something else. To replicate that two weeks in a row would be incredible.

Yes not jeopardise our chances of winning so Cooper's feelings aren't hurt. I don't think Cooper would stand form this.

I don’t know about SOS defence and especially against the storm and yes thanks for clarifying the missing players in Adelaide.

I don’t see the problem of throwing Mitchell there, call me an optimist. He’ll have the ball more often and obviously do some hard busting runs and make breaks and pass. He’s defence will most likely be better than Cronks. He’s got a strong kick but for precision it would go to Keary. Cronk has to get his medal and not by gifting it to him so even if he’s 60% let him be on the bench. I can’t see SOS being able to withstand the Storm aggressiveness. We can do it with 16 players I feel.

The key will be ensuring that we don't have to defend that well again.

Against Souths we turned the ball over on tackle 1 or 2 on 5 or 6 occasions - all but one of which was in our own half. On top of that we trapped a couple of grubbers but fumbled the recovery so could have done better. This just makes our win even more remarkable because those numbers are a recipe for disaster.

But if we give the Storm a free 8 sets of 6 in our 20m then we're in big trouble.

The 70% completion rate won't cut it. We need something much closer to the 93% effort vs the Sharks.

And of course the biggest factor in determining the result takes place Tuesday night. Slater has probably been the player of the finals series. And he won the CCM last year too so in finals he's on fire. If he's out then I believe we win. But if he's free to play then Melbourne have the edge.

At least 3 of those turnovers should have been penalties. Souths got away with some very obvious strips. But yes, I agree, we need 90% ball security against the machine-like Storm.

Cronk currently doing a press conference, has his arm in a sling, said he is a long shot to play but still a chance.

Interesting to hear him say he’s fine to play with the pain,it’s more about the arm functionality..

Gotta love Dylan Napa with his quote below regarding Cronk..

Dylan Napa has offered to stand in front of Cooper Cronk and do all his D on Sunday. ‘He’s my boy. I’d do anything for him.’@FOXSportsNews @sydneyroosters
