Both halves were targeted last night to be fair but we have a GF to play next week.

Don't they have some magic elixer they can pump into the shoulder to make it spin around and up and down?
This is our big chance to win another premiership.
          He must play.
Next year he'll be missing for most of it anyway.
Tell him he'll get all his contract money even if he doesn't play another game.

As I mentioned in another post, if we have to, replace a halfback with another halfback. SOS and Keary in the halves. Whatever way Robbo decides is best. We don’t want too many changes. Just got to get the ball to Latrell early. He will have a blinder.

It's rotten luck and we knew Burgess would be the man assigned to Cronk and he landed really hard on the shoulder with 115 kg on top. Burgess was always trying to take Pearcey's head off when we played them. So glad we knocked them out of it.

We can still win this. I think we will. In fact we can win it 'for' Cooper. He's made a fantastic contribution and toughened up our whole attitude. This side is so much better for having him in it. Th e team will just have to remember all that he has given them in building and maintaining pressure. I know who'd be running the water if I was coaching. But we've matured and the boys are fired up for a big one. I think Napa is setting himself for an absolute blinder.
It's muscle and ligament damage, not tendon and bone. In NRL language... jab can make it so you don't feel muscle pain and the tendon is still holding it in place so you can still use it if you strap it heavily to provide stability and restrict movement in the wrong direction. Serious risk of further injury and not recommended for the general public but that's how they do it in the NRL (for better or for worse).

Their reasoning is that tendons attach muscle to bone (so the muscle can flex/extend) whereas ligaments attach bone to bone (i.e. they are supportive). I am pretty sure GI just cut the ligaments in his knee off and straps them instead because they are difficult to operate on and in the NRL's opinion, lotsa tape + a jab is an adequate replacement. I guess if you are earning $1M a year there's an incentive... if I strained a muscle and suffered ligament damage I'd be in cotton wool for 12+ months.

He may retire anyway if we win the gf!

Sigh!....Seems like there's always something to spoil the win!

On a side note I think this means we've played the whole season without once getting our full strength team on the park? Was the same last year, too.

Can't see him playing. Not sure I want him there carrying that injury.

I doubt it, he won’t leave the club in the lurch. That said Fletch is right, Cronk won’t play, this is an injury that will require a full shoulder reconstruction. There is no chance he or the club will risk it. They are going to allow the story in the media to take pressure off his replacement.

                                I agree.

I know a GF is huge but you don't significantly risk our entire 2019 season by playing a 1 armed halfback.
